Senior Director - US GMASE Clinical Operations Head (Oncology)

Position Summary

The Sr Director, Global Monitoring & Site Engagement (GMASE), US Oncology Head is accountable for accelerating and expanding US Oncology trial delivery — increasing the percentage of US patients reached across all Oncology disease areas and development phases. This role is the face of GMASE for US Oncology: a visible, credible leader who wins the trust of investigators, sites, and patient communities through both data-driven execution and personal presence.

Beyond traditional trial delivery, this role champions GSK's shift to continuous evidence generation — embedding real-time data capture, adaptive monitoring, and evidence-generation approaches into how US Oncology trials are designed and run, so that insight is generated continuously across the patient journey rather than only at fixed milestones.

Operating within the GMASE and DevOps model, this person translates R&D and therapeutic strategy into predictable, high-quality delivery, while reimagining how and where GSK reaches patients — including non-traditional and community-based settings — to meet patients where they are.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Accountable for accelerating delivery and increasing the percentage of US patients enrolled in Oncology studies across all development phases.

• Champion continuous evidence generation — embedding real-time data capture, and evidence approaches throughout the trial lifecycle to keep pace with the changing oncology landscape.

• Bring a dynamic, forward-thinking approach to non-traditional site strategies, including community-based and decentralized settings, to reach patients where they are.

• Serve as the face of US Oncology — representing GSK at conferences and with external stakeholders, building trust through expertise, presence, and leadership as well as data.

• Provide senior leadership and people management for US Oncology Clinical Operations teams.

• Partner closely with Clinical, Medical, Regulatory, and other Development Operations functions to drive integrated, cross-functional delivery.

• Translate GSK R&D and GMASE strategy into executable, innovative country-level plans aligned to portfolio needs.

• Provide clinical monitoring oversight, including studies executed by strategic partners and CROs.

• Maintain deep understanding of the US oncology healthcare environment, regulatory landscape, and community/patient access dynamics.

• Own operational and financial accountability for US Oncology clinical operations budgets.

• Drive continuous improvement, sharing insights across countries and regions to inform global planning.

Why you? 

Basic Qualifications:  

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical R&D or related industry experience.

• Extensive (8+ years) leadership experience in clinical operations within the relevant therapeutic area.

• Deep therapeutic area expertise and understanding of Oncology strategy, data, operational needs, and commercial positioning to enable aligned execution.

• Experience owning end-to-end execution outcomes at portfolio or TA level, including accountability for delivery tradeoffs, risk resolution, and performance.

Preferred Qualification
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus

• Advanced degree (Master’s, PhD, PharmD, MD) in a relevant discipline.

• Experience with real-world evidence, health economics and outcomes research, or epidemiology.

• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, resolve complex issues, and drive study and portfolio performance.

• Strong global stakeholder management experience across GCSD, DS&M, Clinical Science, Regulatory, and country organizations.

• Proven experience coaching and developing operational leaders.

• Day-to-day fluency in using AI to accelerate trial timelines, improve data quality, evidence assurance, and reduce time spent on manual tasks.

• Risk Based Quality Management knowledge.

• Experience leading global portfolios or cross-region evidence programs.

• Strong data fluency, including experience using dashboards and performance metrics to drive decisions.

• Experience with vendor oversight and partnerships with CROs, academic networks or external investigators.

• Demonstrated success delivering process improvements or digital-enabled transformation in evidence generation.
