Senior Director, Strategic Program Delivery (2 openings)

Position Summary

The Product Development and Supply (PDS) Chief of Staff (CoS) organization is responsible for accelerating PDS by building out PDS strategy and developing systems of excellence across disciplines related to strategy, business operations, data and digital, and program management.

 

Reporting to the VP, CoS, this position will serve as a thought partner to PDS business leaders and be responsible for working with teams across PDS to drive strategy execution and build strategic program leadership capabilities across PDS. The Strategic Program Delivery is accountable for shaping, developing, and accelerating PDS’s most strategic priorities. Across these strategic priorities, the role contributes to the development of PDS strategic planning, provides insight into external signals that could impact strategic direction or growth, and accelerates value delivery across PDS’s most strategic and highest-risk programs. 

Key Responsibilities

• Co-lead with business leaders on the most complex, enterprise-level initiatives by establishing the problem statement, desired outcomes, decision rights, governance, and integrated roadmap; connect functions around dependencies and trade-offs; and maintain a disciplined cadence for decisions, risks, and progress.
• Co-lead the highest-priority PDS initiatives end-to-end—from framing the initial hypothesis and testing assumptions through mobilization and execution enablement—by defining workstreams, milestones, owners, success measures, and the strategic levers required to deliver value.
• Translate business intelligence and external market signals into clear implications for growth, performance, and strategic direction; synthesize findings into concise scenarios and recommendations; and brief senior and executive leaders at key planning and decision points.
• Lead cross-functional program teams through a fit-for-purpose operating rhythm, including clear working-team and steering-team forums, decision and action tracking, dependency management, benefit measures, and escalation paths that build organizational capability and deliver measurable, sustainable business value.
• Independently structure ambiguous, undefined problems by gathering perspectives and evidence, developing and testing hypotheses, and converting complexity into practical frameworks, options, and recommendations that enable timely senior-leadership decisions.
• Partner with internal stakeholders, including senior functional leaders, to drive rigorous analysis of complex data sets and business processes.
• Develop and deliver executive-level communications—including decision briefs, steering updates, and leadership narratives—that make the issue, options, recommendation, value, risks, and required actions clear and drive stakeholder alignment and adoption.
• Serve as an escalation point and advisor on program risk, prioritization trade-offs, and resourcing decisions across the strategic portfolio.
• Build and sustain an engaging, inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration, strategic program leadership capability-building, and professional growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• MBA or advanced degree in science, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10+ years of industry-related experience in pharma or life sciences, including significant experience developing and/or leading strategic initiatives at an enterprise level.
• Significant experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated track record leading, coaching, and developing senior program/project leaders and cross-functional teams at scale.
• Demonstrated exceptional ability to influence senior and executive stakeholders in matrix environments.
• Expert at driving organizational change management and adoption at an enterprise level, with tenacity and perseverance for leading change through ambiguity.
• Deep understanding of global biopharmaceutical market dynamics and trends, with the ability to translate them into strategic implications for business units.
• Masterful project and program leadership, with a strong, demonstrated track record of value delivery on complex, high-visibility initiatives.
• Ability to distill complex information into frameworks that facilitate senior leadership decision-making.
• Expert communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.

Devens - MA - US: $247,400 - $299,792 Princeton - NJ - US: $224,910 - $272,538

The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance.

U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year.

Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.

Depending on eligibility, employees may also have access to additional time-off benefits, including paid sick leave, up to two paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, and leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, or military needs. Eligible employees also enjoy an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
