Senior Director, Avexitide Brand Lead

The Opportunity

Amylyx Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Director, Avexitide Brand Lead to provide strategic leadership for the potential launch and commercialization of avexitide and serve as the enterprise marketing leader responsible for brand strategy and long-term brand growth. This role will develop and execute the integrated marketing strategy for avexitide, for post-bariatric hypoglycemia (PBH), while establishing the foundation for future indications. The Senior Director will partner closely within Marketing and across Sales, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Corporate Communications, and Advocacy to ensure successful commercialization and long-term brand success.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise-wide brand strategy for avexitide from launch planning, through commercialization and future indication planning.
• Serve as a key stakeholder in establishing and achieving marketing KPIs
• Lead development and execution of insight-driven marketing plan, including targeting & segmentation, value proposition, competitive strategy, positioning, core messaging, and annual brand planning.
• Lead the HCP marketing team in developing integrated healthcare provider marketing plans for endocrinologists, bariatric surgeons, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Lead community marketing team in developing patient and caregiver engagement strategies, including patient activation initiatives, and collaborate with Advocacy and Patient Services to optimize the patient journey and support programs.
• Deliver disease state and promotional campaigns, educational initiatives, field engagement tools, CRM journey, digital assets, and other tactics that support promotional and omnichannel objectives.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and Corporate Communications to support a consistent engagement experience for healthcare providers, patients, caregivers, and advocacy organizations.
• Ensure that the brand strategic perspective is represented in market research, commercial forecast, long-range business planning, pricing, access, trade, and other key commercial decisions and workstreams. Align with Medical for evidence-generation and data-dissemination strategies.
• Oversee the avexitide brand marketing budget.
• Build, develop, and lead a high-performing brand team and manage external partners toward accountability, collaboration, innovation, and long-term product success.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field required; advanced degree such as an MBA, MPH, or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare marketing experience with demonstrated success in brand management and commercial launch strategy.
• Demonstrated brand leadership resulting in successful product launches in biotechnology or specialty pharmaceuticals.
• Demonstrated success developing integrated healthcare provider, patient, caregiver, and disease awareness marketing strategies.
• Experience managing significant commercial budgets and external agency partnerships.
• Experience leading and working cross-functional commercial teams and influencing executive leadership on enterprise-wide strategic decisions. Demonstrated contributions as a member of program and lifecycle teams, integrated evidence generation planning group, pricing committees, and other strategic cross-functional bodies.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, leadership, problem-solving, executive communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, evolving commercial environment.

Preferred Requirements

• Rare disease, endocrinology, metabolic disease, or specialty pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred.
• Experience commercializing products for high unmet-need patient communities and/or first-to-market therapies for rare therapeutic categories preferred.
• Experience building scalable brand, market development, and patient engagement capabilities in a growing organization preferred.

Work Location and Conditions

• At Amylyx, we proudly support remote work opportunities within the United States. However, due to business considerations related to health insurance coverage and state tax regulations, we are unable to hire employees who reside and/or work in certain states. Currently, we are not considering applicants from Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Michigan and Tennessee.
• You will be expected to travel to our corporate location in Cambridge, MA several times a year and attend other company-related events as necessary and requested.
