The Opportunity
As a Senior Development Engineer/ Mathematician/ Data Analyst, you will be a vital part of our development team in Spain, focusing on our innovative Blood Gas & Electrolyte Analyzers. You will transform complex physical measurement data into precise, life-saving results through mathematical excellence.
Robust Algorithms: Develop and refine sophisticated methods, algorithms, and failsafes that extract highly reliable results from physical measurement data. Drive projects from initial conception through to rigorous testing and final completion.
Model the Future: Create mathematical models and provide expert statistical consulting (including Design of Experiments and Validation) to drive data-driven decision-making and product excellence.
Bridge Science and Compliance: Implement biometric methods into specification documents, ensuring our products meet the highest health authority requirements and regulatory standards.
Drive Product Approvals: Support global product launches by developing solid statistical rationales and customized solutions for ongoing product maintenance.
Unlock Insights: Extract, clean, and visualize large datasets, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to present actionable insights that drive medical innovation.
Lead as a Technical Expert: Act as a central point of contact and own the technical solutions, providing the rationale necessary to ensure product quality and scientific integrity.
Who You Are
You are an analytical thinker, solution-oriented who enjoys working in a team at the intersection of engineering, mathematics, physics, and medical technology. You thrive in collaborative, international environments, not hesitant to proactively raise your voice and you are passionate about using your quantitative skills to improve patient care.
Quantitative Expert: You hold a Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
Experience: You have 7+ years of professional industry related experience.
Control Engineering/Signal Processing Specialist: You have deep knowledge of system identification, model-based filtering, and classic or model-predictive control methods.
Sensor & Modeling Pro: You bring experience in modeling electrochemical sensors and optimizing robust calibration methods to ensure precision.
Statistical Powerhouse: You are highly proficient in modern statistical software such as MATLAB (preferred), Python, R or JMP, with exceptional data wrangling and visualization skills.
Collaborative Communicator: You possess the ability to translate complex mathematical results into clear, actionable insights for interdisciplinary teams.
Regulatory Minded: You have an affinity for medical technology and an interest in—or experience with—analytical performance guidelines (such as CLSI).
Communication Skills: Fluent English is required.
