A Day in the Life

In this role, you will be part of the Emerging Talent & Careers team, leading strategic efforts to attract, engage, and hire top early‑career talent. You’ll partner with hiring managers, program leads and recruiting colleagues across the full recruiting lifecycle—from outreach and candidate engagement to interviews, offers, and intern conversion.

As a Senior Campus Recruiting Specialist with a strong focus on attracting top talent with diverse experience, skills, and perspectives, you will collaborate closely with the Diversity Program Manager to build and execute strategies that strengthen our talent pipeline. This includes leading recruiting efforts at partner schools and cultivating relationships with national diversity organizations (e.g., MLT, SWE, SHPE, O4U) as well as early-identification student programs.

This position will report to the Engineering Intern Recruiting Team Lead.

This is an onsite position and will reside in Minneapolis, MN.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

HBCU & Diversity Program Ownership 

  • Lead direct recruiting engagement for HBCU and other partner schools through campus strategy execution, end-to-end implementation, and relationship management, while providing direction and oversight to campus teams. 

  • Build strong partnerships with career centers, faculty, and student organizations to drive awareness and attract high-quality early-career talent. 

  • Represent Medtronic at on‑campus, virtual, and hybrid events to elevate brand awareness and drive candidate engagement. 

Strategic Sourcing & Candidate Experience 

  • Source, screen, and engage top early-career candidates through targeted outreach, events, and partnerships. 

  • Prepare candidates through coaching, interview readiness, and process education to ensure a positive and inclusive experience. 

  • Guide candidates through all stages of the recruiting process while maintaining momentum and minimizing bottlenecks. 

Pipeline & Recruitment Operations 

  • Manage candidate pipelines, interview coordination, and candidate slates with accuracy and transparency. 

  • Ensure strong recruiter coverage across assigned schools and timely progression of candidates through the recruiting funnel. 

Talent Advisory & Stakeholder Partnership 

  • Act as a trusted talent advisor to hiring managers, providing guidance on candidate fit, pipeline health, and inclusive hiring best practices. 

  • Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition partners and program teams to align with broader campus strategies. 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Monitor recruiting data to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. 

  • Support additional campus recruiting initiatives and special projects as needed. 

 

MUST HAVE: Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience in campus recruiting, diversity recruiting, or early-career talent acquisition. 

  • Ability to travel up to 40% during peak season for campus and recruiting events across the US. 

 

NICE TO HAVE 

  • Demonstrated experience recruiting at or building partnerships with HBCUs and national diversity organizations. 

  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills. 

  • Experience managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment. 

  • Experience serving as a professional brand ambassador in both virtual and in-person settings. 

  • High sense of urgency, strong follow-through, and commitment to confidentiality. 

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams. 

  • Strong decision‑making, analytical thinking, and organizational skills 

  • Results-oriented, highly organized, and accountable with the ability to meet deadlines. 

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work products. 

  • Flexibility to manage shifting priorities and fast‑changing environments. 

  • Knowledge of EEO, AAP, and OFCCP compliance practices. 

  • Experience using Workday, Paradox, and Handshake preferred. 

  • Experience working effectively in a remote or virtual team environment. 

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$88,000.00 - $132,000.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
