Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech</span></span></p><p><b>Key responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><p>Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects from Define through Control using Lean Six Sigma methodology to deliver measurable business results (cost reduction, quality, throughput, lead time).</p></li><li><p>Act as project owner or core team member for medium-to-large capital and process improvement projects: develop charters, build schedules, manage risks, track budgets and report status.</p></li><li><p>Design and implement visual & digital factory solutions (Kanban, visual metrics, standardized workboards).</p></li><li><p>Execute & support site-wide deployment of 5S/6S and standard work.</p></li><li><p>Support shop floor layout and governance execution.</p></li><li><p>Use CAD tools to support process design, line layouts, tooling/fixture concepts and process simulations; create and revise technical drawings to support implementation.</p></li><li><p>Coach, mentor and train employees and leaders on Lean, Six Sigma tools, problem solving (A3, PDCA), and change management to build internal capability.</p></li><li><p>Apply data analysis and root-cause investigation techniques to drive corrective actions and process control (DMAIC).</p></li><li><p> Lean Yellow Belt and A3 Root Cause Problem Solving trainer.</p></li><li><p>Facilitate cross-functional workshops (kaizen events, rapid improvement events) and lead stakeholder alignment.</p></li><li><p>Define, support, and monitor KPIs (OEE, cycle time, first pass yield, scrap, throughput, safety metrics); translate performance into action plans.</p></li><li><p>Execute deployment and continuous improvement of maintenance and reliability practices (TPM/RCM principles) and or Johnson and Johnson Production System (JJPS).</p></li><li><p>Document and sustain improvements through control plans, training, audits and governance rituals.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required qualifications</b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).</p></li><li><p>Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience in continuous improvement, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or operations improvement; 7+ years preferred for senior roles.</p></li><li><p>Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required; Black Belt preferred (or equivalent demonstrated experience).</p></li><li><p>Practical experience with Lean tools: 5S/6S, visual management, value stream mapping, standard work, kaizen events.</p></li><li><p>CAD experience (2D/3D) to create or modify layouts, tooling and fixtures; experience with common CAD packages preferred (AutoCAD).</p></li><li><p>Strong project management experience, including project charters, schedules, budgeting and stakeholder management.</p></li><li><p>Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel — advanced, PowerPoint, Word, Visio or equivalent).</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience in data-driven problem solving and statistical analysis.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication, facilitation and change management skills; ability to influence at all levels.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred</b></p><ul><li><p>Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification</p></li><li><p>Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES), ERP integration or process automation.</p></li><li><p>Experience in visual factory software or digital manufacturing tools.</p></li><li><p>Previous experience in the specific industry (medical devices, consumer goods, automotive, aerospace, etc.).</p></li><li><p>Experience with regulatory environments (e.g., ISO, FDA) where applicable.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Performance measures / KPIs</b></p><ul><li><p>Delivered cost savings / productivity improvements ($ or %).</p></li><li><p>Reduction in cycle time, lead time or WIP.</p></li><li><p>Improvements in quality metrics (PPM, first pass yield).</p></li><li><p>OEE improvement targets achieved.</p></li><li><p>Successful on-time delivery of projects and sustainment of implemented changes.</p></li><li><p>Capability uplift across teams (number of trained belts, kaizen events executed).</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Working conditions</b></p><ul><li><p>Primarily on-site in a manufacturing/plant environment with occasional office work.</p></li><li><p>May require travel between facilities and occasional extended hours to support project or improvement rollout across multiple shifts.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Why join us</b></p><ul><li><p>Be a firsthand leader driving measurable improvements and results across operations and supply chain in the Orthopaedic industry.</p></li><li><p>Opportunity to build and scale continuous improvement capability and influence long-term operational excellence with worldwide cross site collaboration.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work required.
