This position may work out of our Willis Tower location or our Corporate Headquarters in Abbott Park, IL.</p><p></p><p><span>You will be joining a multinational organization with a strong emphasis on talent development where you will spend 18-24 months operating within this cross-functional role and learning Abbott’s diverse and evolving businesses. Afterwards you will have the opportunity to transition into various positions in the organization such as FP&amp;A, financial reporting, or a finance specialty function.</span></p><p></p><p>The individual will scope and plan for assigned audit engagements, including preparation of audit risk assessments, and planning to drive appropriate audit coverage. The Sr. Global Finance Auditor will execute audit fieldwork using a risk-based approach to identify control gaps and other areas of exposure related to controls within Finance processes and deliver achievable, meaningful recommendations for management to mitigate. The individual should have the demonstrated ability to work well with others and be reliable. Sr. Global Finance Auditor is encouraged to leverage experience obtained and relationships developed over the course of the rotation to identify future career interests and opportunities in Abbott Finance.<br /> </p><p><b><span>What You’ll Work On</span></b></p><ul><li><p>Perform financial audits of Abbott Laboratories’ domestic and international Affiliates.</p></li><li><p>Utilize skills and knowledge acquired from 3-6 years of public accounting experience to assess the accuracy of financial statements, adequacy of internal controls, and identify business process improvements.</p></li><li><p>Successfully complete audits from all stages of an audit: planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up.</p></li><li><p>Document all audit work performed in a clear, purposeful, and timely manner.</p></li><li><p>Provide input on risks and controls while maintaining independence.</p></li><li><p>Promote an effective team-oriented atmosphere and take initiative to assist in the on-boarding and development of new auditors.</p></li><li><p>Achieve individual and department goals.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Required Qualifications</span></b></p><ul><li><p>BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience</p></li><li><p>3-6 busy seasons in internal/external audit practice of a public accounting firm, Big 4 highly preferred</p></li><li><p>Ability to work with and analyze large amounts of data to assess audit scope and/or areas of risk</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley; experience in performing financial statement audits for SEC clients and/or SOX processes and controls</p></li><li><p>Project management experience including the ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments with little or no supervision</p></li><li><p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to advise on risk and control considerations</p></li><li><p>Manufacturing and/or international business experience is preferred</p></li><li><p>Ability to use discretion, sound judgment, and handle confidential information</p></li><li><p>CPA or other certification (CFE, CIA, CMA), highly preferred</p></li><li><p>40-60% travel to Abbott&#39;s International and Domestic locations required</p></li></ul><p></p><p>*Participants who complete a short wellness assessment qualify for FREE coverage in our HIP PPO medical plan.
