The Senior Accountant is responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely financial information to support management decision-making. This role maintains accounting records, researches and analyzes account reconciliations and individual transactions, and supports controls and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).

This position reports to the Sr. Manger of Finance – SOX and Compliance and is part of the Accounting team located in Fargo, ND or Coralville, IA. This will be an on-site role.  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Support the integrity of the trial balance by preparing general ledger entries, maintaining supporting documentation, and reconciling the general ledger to sub-ledgers and subsidiary ledgers.
• Perform month-end close activities accurately and on time, including account reconciliations, financial statement variance analysis, and standard and non-recurring journal entries in accordance with US GAAP.
• Research and interpret financial data to respond to management inquiries and support timely, accurate reporting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by documenting accounting procedures, recommending stronger controls and efficiencies, and maintaining knowledge of relevant accounting practices and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as an effective D365 and SAP ERP user and resource while demonstrating the Company’s Core Values, informally coaching staff accountants, and performing other duties as assigned.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prefer five years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency with PC software programs and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines while working collaboratively.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience working with ERP systems, which as D365 or SAP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
