The Opportunity
This position is primarily responsible for initiating, directing, and executing scientific research, development, and manufacturing process strategies to support both new and existing products. A central pillar of this role involves creating and scaling a comprehensive digital pathology workflow, bridging the gap between traditional histology and high-throughput data analysis. You will investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles to potential inventions and products, with a specific emphasis on integrating state-of-the-art imaging tools and automated analysis platforms into the laboratory ecosystem.
As a subject matter expert, you will maintain a broad knowledge of cutting-edge theories, serving as an in-house and outside consultant while making meaningful contributions to scientific literature and international conferences. You may act as a primary spokesperson for corporate scientific affairs and provide strategic advice to top management regarding the evolution of digital pathology and assay innovation. Furthermore, you will participate in and promote the professional growth of junior scientists. Utilizing advanced professional concepts, you will contribute to the development of product and process principles, achieving complex objectives through creative and effective methodologies.
Digital Pathology & CDx Development: Participate in the creation and implementation of digital pathology workflows for Companion Diagnostics (CDx) projects, ensuring all methods and processes are optimized for clinical-grade imaging and data integrity.
Research & Experimental Design: Plan and execute complex R&D projects using advanced scientific knowledge and DOE (Design of Experiments) to define new components, identify technical challenges, and develop potentially patentable reagents or systems.
Data Analysis & Process Improvement: Analyze experimental data to form technical conclusions and implement improvements in work processes or documentation, consistently promoting a "Quality First Time" approach to all deliverables.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross functional teams to share expertise, contribute to project planning, and deliver presentations of results to internal and external stakeholders to advance corporate scientific goals.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline plus 8 or more years of progressive work experience. OR
Master's Degree in a relevant discipline. 3 or more years of progressive work experience OR
Ph.D. in a relevant discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrate increased competencies with combined academic and industry experience in the following functions or combination thereof:
Technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought
Strong understanding of scientific principles and concepts
Applies advanced technical writing skills to produce reports and documents
Familiarity with digital pathology models and tools

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Arizona is 82 700,00 - 153 700,00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
