As part of the Enzyme Process Development Group in Advanced Science, you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and contribute to development of enzyme production processes.
Position Responsibilities:
Purify proteins using column chromatography and filtration techniques
Perform functional and physical assays to assess protein purity and stability
Generate buffer systems to support specific design requirements
Formulate protein solutions to match predefined enzyme product conditions
Generate, track, and maintain development enzyme and buffer inventories
Thoroughly and accurately document experiments as they are performed
Write summaries and contribute to reports
Help troubleshoot unexpected or challenging results within a team
Optimize and stress test process designs to ensure robust performance
Analyze, summarize, and present results to teams to drive design decisions and improvements

Position Requirements:
BS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field, or an Associate’s degree with 1-2 years of laboratory experience
Familiarity with analyzing proteins and nucleic acids using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, agarose gel electrophoresis, UV/Vis spectroscopy, or fluorescence-based assays
Ability to calculate molarities and make biological buffers
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Good organizational, time-management, and analytical abilities
Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced, collaborative work environment

The estimated base salary range for the Scientist I role based in the United States of America is: $58,300 - $87,500. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
