Description

The Scientist plays a key role in the research and development of polymeric and adhesive hydrogel medical devices. In this role, you will apply scientific principles to design, execute, and analyze experiments across a variety of research areas. You will advance projects from early-stage research into development activities by translating scientifically validated concepts into commercially viable medical products. You will also contribute to the creation of new technology platforms by integrating materials science, engineering, and clinical insights to support next-generation medical solutions. Responsibilities include assessing competitive and emerging technologies, developing and refining R&D experiments, building and evaluating functionality of prototypes, establishing test methods, designing compliant medical devices, identifying technical solutions, documenting work, maintaining lab environment, and supporting operations with equipment qualifications. Required Skills: Organizational skills, leading laboratory research efforts, managing large projects, designing experiments, team collaboration, open communication.

Requirements

B.S. degree in relevant STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience or M.S. in relevant STEM field and 0 years of relevant experience. Preferred: B.S., M.S., or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or other related STEM field. Experience in electrochemistry, polymer chemistry or hydrogels, analytical techniques (rheology, spectroscopy, microscopy). Proven track record working independently in wet labs. Understanding of cGMP and GDP. Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective time management and prioritization skills.
