Digitalization is generating large quantities of data and, when used with intelligent automation, is transforming how decision-making and analytics are delivered across Research &amp; Development.</p><p>DDS is seeking a <b>Senior Manager Data Sciences</b> who will actively lead and collaborate with business leaders to design, implement, and scale sophisticated analytical models and digital solutions that drive measurable R&amp;D impact.</p><p>This role will also serve as a <b>people and delivery leader for an India-based data science team</b>, accountable for building, developing, and scaling advanced data science capabilities within Amgen India. This role will ensure seamless integration of offshore analytics delivery with onshore R&amp;D priorities, maintaining high standards for quality, velocity, and business impact.  This role will report to US Director Data Sciences.</p><div></div><p>Primary Responsibilities</p><h2>Analytics &amp; Digital Leadership</h2><ul><li><p>Design and develop analyses (e.g., descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) to enable concrete insights and inform timely decision-making</p></li><li><p>Strategize with partners across the organization to build scalable, production-grade AI/ML products and apply consistent approaches to solving complex business problems</p></li><li><p>Identify key business questions required to meet evolving needs; prioritize resources to address critical business issues and decisions</p></li><li><p>Design and build analytical frameworks, tune model parameters, and monitor model performance over time</p></li><li><p>Lead and provide thought leadership across end-to-end development, deployment, and sustainment of digital and analytics solutions</p></li><li><p>Partner with IS and data engineering teams to define data requirements, automate model retraining, and ensure robust deployment pipelines</p></li><li><p>Ensure dashboards and downstream products are fed by reliable, high-quality analytical models aligned to business needs</p></li><li><p>Apply agile delivery methods to ensure efficient, integrated, and scalable business and system processes</p></li></ul><h3></h3><h2>Global Delivery &amp; India Team Leadership</h2><ul><li><p>Build, lead, and develop a high-performing <b>India-based Data Sciences team</b>, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development</p></li><li><p>Establish a strong culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement aligned with Amgen values and DDS standards</p></li><li><p>Own <b>end-to-end delivery of analytics and data science projects executed in India</b>, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, quality standards, and business expectations</p></li><li><p>Translate onshore business priorities into clear, executable workstreams for offshore teams</p></li><li><p>Implement scalable operating models, governance, and delivery playbooks to support offshore analytics at scale</p></li><li><p>Serve as a visible people leader for Amgen India analytics staff, driving engagement, inclusion, and long-term talent retention</p></li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Stakeholder &amp; Matrix Leadership</h2><ul><li><p>Act as a primary liaison between <b>India-based teams and onshore R&amp;D, Strategy, and IS partners</b>, managing expectations across geographies</p></li><li><p>Proactively manage India-based stakeholders, risks, dependencies, and resourcing needs</p></li><li><p>Develop productive relationships with senior functional leaders to understand operational challenges and present innovative, sustainable digital solutions</p></li><li><p>Maintain <b>regular working-hour overlap with onshore leadership and global stakeholders</b> to ensure alignment and effective collaboration across time zones</p></li><li><p>Influence outcomes across a highly matrixed, global organization</p></li></ul><h3></h3><h2>People, Culture &amp; Professional Development</h2><ul><li><p>Motivate, coach, and serve as a role model for <b>globally distributed teams</b>, coordinating onshore and offshore resources to advance business priorities and professional growth</p></li><li><p>Cultivate a collaborative environment where teams feel a strong sense of belonging, ownership, and intellectual curiosity</p></li><li><p>Mentor high-performing data scientists and decision scientists within the organization</p></li><li><p>Ensure all structured and ad hoc projects follow Amgen SOPs and meet service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, and budget</p></li></ul><div></div><p>What we expect of you</p><p>We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
