Description
Responsible and accountable for all things, processes, and results related to acoustic imaging as it pertains to incisionless surgery. Responsible for the strategy, architecture and execution of ultrasound imaging systems from requirements to final validation. Responsible for leading ultrasound engineering decisions that take into account patient safety, effective clinical value, user needs, and usability/user experience. Responsible for delivering an ultrasound imaging platform that integrates with the system hardware, achieves all the clinical goals, and is scalable for future product growth. In conjunction with industry experts and leadership, identify and bring to product realization a state of the art technology that enables an entire new field of therapeutic intervention based on science and first principles, and powered by novel and unique imaging software and algorithms. Responsible for long term strategy, architecture and execution of ultrasound imaging initiatives tied with company level strategic initiatives in alignment with the Technology Lead's strategy. Responsible for external partnerships with ultrasound imaging vendors (research and OEM, universities) in alignment with the Technology Lead's strategy. Responsible for creation of intellectual property in the field of ultrasound imaging and image guidance with a focus on long term value creation in the field of incisionless surgery in alignment with the Technology Lead's strategy.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, software or related. At least 10 years of relevant ultrasound imaging experience in a regulated environment. Must be able to work independently within an environment rich with unsolved science and technology challenges, evolving requirements, and a dynamic team committed to changing the fundamentals of surgery. Must have successfully complied with IEC 60601-2-37, IEC 60601-X standards and other industry stands required to launch a medical device with ultrasound experience. Experience translating ultrasound imaging requirements into design input requirements that have passed design verification and validation. Experience developing and executing an ultrasound imaging test plan with a strategy to enable execution efficiency and a focus on risk analysis. Must have taken one medical ultrasound device through product launch. Experience directly developing products alongside a cross functional organization of clinical, mechanical, electrical and systems engineers. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant working experience. At least 15 years of relevant software design and development experience in the medical device industry. Successfully launched three or more medical devices. Must be able to strategize, plan, budget and execute large and ambiguous objectives within their domain. Custom ultrasound imaging Tx/Rx circuit design. Beamforming algorithm development. Elastography, doppler and aberration correction.
