We provide our global</p><p>teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a</p><p>step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world’s toughest challenges, like protecting the</p><p>environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.</p><p></p><p><b>Location/Division Specific Information</b></p><p>This position is within the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) business unit of Thermo Fisher</p><p>Scientific reporting to the Bridgewater, NJ site.</p><p></p><p><b>How will you make an impact?</b></p><p>The QC Supervisor will have direct supervision of QC Scientists / Engineers according to established</p><p>policies and under management guidance. Review product batch records to disposition</p><p>intermediates, and/or finished goods. Administer company policies that directly affect QC</p><p>personnel. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; resource planning,</p><p>assigning and directing work; appraising performance and disciplining employees.</p><p></p><p><b>What will you do?</b></p><ul><li> Lead and coordinate the activities of the QC team and directly provide guidance to the QC</li></ul><p>Scientists / Engineers to achieve site goals, and to complete assignments and projects, as well as</p><p>adhere to production schedules.</p><ul><li>Conduct routine analysis of samples according to approved procedures.</li><li>Segregate, label and dispose of waste chemicals in accordance with company, local, state</li></ul><p>and federal regulations and assist in reducing waste.</p><ul><li>Review documentation in order to support compliance and quality requirements.</li><li>Assist in continuously updating standard operating procedures.</li><li>Perform and support investigations for out of specification failures, nonconformance</li></ul><p>reports, and CAPAs.</p><ul><li> Provide for the continual development and training of QC Scientists / Engineers.</li></ul><ul><li>Support continuous improvement activities. (Knowledge and experience of Lean Six Sigma</li></ul><p>Process is a plus.)</p><ul><li>Perform other duties to support the needs of the department as assigned by the QC</li></ul><p>Manager.</p><p></p><p><b>How will you get here?</b></p><p></p><p><b>Education</b></p><ul><li>Minimum BS/BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related subject is required.</li></ul><p><b>Experience</b></p><ul><li>Direct supervisory experience strongly preferred.</li><li>5 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience with undergraduate degree; or 3</li></ul><p>years’ experience with an advanced degree or equivalent work experience.</p><p><b>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</b></p><ul><li>Strong organizational skills to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and the</li></ul><p>ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.</p><ul><li>Ability to follow written and verbal directions with a high level of accuracy.</li></ul><ul><li>Must be able to write clear, understandable documentation.</li><li>High level of verbal communication skills, and functional leadership skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong word processing and spreadsheet software skills.</li></ul><ul><li>High level of reading comprehension skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong command of Quality System Regulations and ISO.</li></ul><ul><li>Skilled at analyzing data, summarizing results, and generating performance metrics to drive</li></ul><p>corrective actions.</p><ul><li>Strong math skills including calculation of concentrations and dilutions.</li></ul><ul><li>Strong troubleshooting skills.</li></ul><p></p><p>Our Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
