Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. Our in-vitro Diagnostic Assay manufacturing site in Dundee has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician I to join the team.
About the Role
We are looking for a Production Technician I to join our Technical Operations team. In this role, you will play a key part in safely producing high‑quality materials on time, following best practices, site procedures, and quality standards.
This is an individual contributor position suited for someone who is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow professionally.
What You’ll Do
Work in line with Abbott’s Environmental, Health & Safety culture and policies.
Take ownership of your workload and deliver tasks on time and to a high standard.
Complete all quality documentation accurately and in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Follow SOPs, Manufacturing Batch Records, and other quality instructions precisely.
Handle, measure, and formulate a range of chemicals and biologics with accuracy.
Manufacture simple and complex reagent formulations at various scales.
Produce rare reagents, intermediates, and bulk reagents to meet the Operations Master Schedule.
Maintain accurate batch records to ensure full traceability.
Support continuous improvement and maintain good housekeeping.
Develop a strong understanding of products, processes, and procedures.
Carry out additional tasks as requested by your supervisor or manager.
What We’re Looking For
Education / Qualifications
Modern Apprenticeship Level 4, HND/HNC, or equivalent.
Science or Maths subjects at Advanced Higher / Higher / Nat 5 / Nat 4 level.
Skills & Experience
Technical understanding of production processes (required).
Knowledge of process control and best practices.
Strong numeracy skills.
Experience using EDMS or ERP systems is a plus (full training provided).
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high standards of accuracy.
