The Production Engineer coordinates and partners with cross functional groups to manage/ support the following key activities within the IPT:
• Provides front line troubleshooting on shopfloor for process stoppages and interruptions to enable smooth resumption of manufacturing activities
• Problem solving (RTPS) coaching on shopfloor to enable right first time problem solving and minimise production downtime
• Continuous improvement on manufacturing processes, with specific focus on harmonisation and simplification of operational processes/ systems
• Partners cross functional groups on strategic initiatives requiring IPT support e.g. site based risk assessments, new product transfer
Main Responsibilities
1. Safety, Health and Environment
• Demonstrates and promotes safety, health and environment (SHE) leadership behavior, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with SHE requirements
2. Quality
• Authors or reviews operational SOPs for accuracy and adherence to required guidelines
• Leads implementation and closure of CAPAs for deviations, customer complaints and audits
• Serves as lead for investigations and incidents
3. Frontline Shopfloor Problem Solving and Coaching
• Provides unit operations knowledge and participates/ leads teams in problem solving of issues encountered during routine manufacturing
• Triages and makes decisions on resumption of production in the event of excursion recovery based on outcome of problem solving
• Actively drives problem solving to issues faced by shopfloor
4. Continuous Improvement
• Utilises engineering knowledge and Lean Six Sigma skills (Kaizen, 5S etc) to lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on operational efficiency and cost reduction
• Partners with cross functional team to support and investigate proactive process monitoring trends, deployment of process monitoring tools and usage on the shopfloor
• Proactively works on simplifications and system improvement projects to enhance safety and quality on the shopfloor e.g. lead HIRAs, quality risk assessments
• Leads/ initiates change controls to drive improvement activities identified by shopfloor personnel at module level
Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, including Chemical, Mechanical or Pharmaceutical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience
• At least 2 to 3 years technical experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred
