If you are excited about a role but don't meet every bullet point, we encourage you to apply and join us to create the extraordinary.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><h2>Job Summary</h2><p><span>To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a </span><b><span>Product Quality Engineer </span></b><span>located in </span><b><span>Columbia, SC.</span></b></p><p></p><p><span>Reporting to the </span><b><span>Quality Manager,</span></b> <span>the </span><b><span>Product Quality Engineer </span></b><span>develops, implements, coordinates, and performs Design Quality Assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products.</span></p><p></p><p><b><span>What a typical day looks like:</span></b></p><ul><li>Ensure that the customer requirements are met and demonstrated though Validation planning & Product assurance planning</li><li>Failure analysis of pre- production and prototype products.</li><li>Work as part of the cross functional engineering team throughout the product development process.</li><li>Asist in determing validation requirements for design and manufacturing change requests.</li><li>Communicate and resolve validation and prototype issues with customers.</li><li>Interfaces with the customer regarding validation planning and results.</li><li>Interface with validation labs as required to resolve issues.</li><li>Work with Test Systems Engineering to define requirements for test and validation equipment.</li><li>Review and analyse customer requirements and specifications to ensure they are reflected in the functional and reliability validation.</li><li>Participate in the Engineering Gate Review Process.</li><li>Participate in Program Gate Management Reviews</li><li>Lead reliability predictions.</li><li>Assist with development of functional safety plans and participate in the functional safety audit process.</li><li>Participate with Business Development, Program Management and other engineering disciplines in generating quotes for new product opportunities.</li><li>Definition of customer quality goals.</li><li>Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.</li><li>Interface with customers on technical/quality issues and improvement initiatives.</li><li>Work with product design engineers on the prototype build process, create prototype control plans and assist with prototype PFMEAs as required.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>The experience we’re looking to add to our team:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent.</li><li>8 years experience developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems or related area.</li><li>Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.</li><li>Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.</li><li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.</li><li>Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.</li><li>Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.</li><li>Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>What you'll receive for the great work you provide:</b></p><ul><li>Full range of medical, dental, and vision plans</li><li>Life Insurance</li><li>Short-term and Long-term Disability</li><li>Matching 401(k) Contributions</li><li>Vacation and Paid Sick Time</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Job Category</h2>Design, Process & Technology Engineering<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h2></h2><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Is Sponsorship Available?</p>No<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Flex is an Equal Opportunity Employer and employment selection decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and abilities.
