Reporting to the VP, Product Line Strategy & Business Development the Product Line Director, DC Power and BESS will lead the strategy, commercialization and portfolio development of Flex Critical Power’s emerging DC power and battery-energy storage solutions. Will establish the category through internal development, strategic partnerships and targeted market-entry programs, with a pathway to build a dedicated team as the business scales.
What a typical day looks like:
Define the strategy, roadmap and business case for DC power, 800VDC/HVDC distribution, DC PDUs, power conversion and BESS.
Identify market-entry priorities across AI infrastructure, hyperscale, colocation, utility and industrial applications.
Develop solution architectures linking DC distribution, BESS, controls, thermal systems and modular infrastructure.
Lead strategic relationships with OEMs, battery providers, power-conversion suppliers and grid-management partners.
Assess build, buy, license and partner opportunities for new technologies and product capabilities.
Develop product requirements, investment cases, pricing models and commercialization plans.
Coordinate NPI and technology development with Engineering, Compliance,
Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Services.
Define certification, safety and regulatory pathways for DC and BESS solutions.
Develop customer-facing technical positioning and solution narratives for strategic accounts and partners.
Build the organizational and operating model required to scale the category into a dedicated product line and team.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team,
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems Business or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
7+ years of experience in power systems, energy storage, electrical distribution, power conversion, critical infrastructure or related sectors.
Strong knowledge of DC architectures, power electronics, BESS, protection controls and electrical safety.
Experience in data centers, microgrids, renewable integration, grid-interactive solutions or AI infrastructure preferred.
Demonstrated success commercializing emerging technologies through product development, partnerships or alliances.
Strong financial and commercial capability, including market assessment, business cases, pricing and partner economics.
Familiarity with UL, IEC, NFPA and energy-storage safety requirements preferred.
Ability to operate independently in an evolving market and build organizational capability over time.
Willingness to travel internationally as required.
