The Neuromodulation Operating Unit partners with healthcare providers, patients, and payers to expand access to therapies that help manage chronic pain and improve patient outcomes. We support therapy adoption by engaging payers, providing coverage support, educating on reimbursement, and running patient access programs that help navigate complex insurance requirements.

This position is based in the United States and supports employees working remotely from the State of Minnesota. This is a fully remote role with no travel requirement.

 

This role leads a team responsible for prior authorization and reimbursement support activities for pain intervention therapies. The position oversees daily operations, drives service excellence, monitors performance metrics, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to support patient access, coverage, and reimbursement processes.

 

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise daily prior authorization and reimbursement support operations for pain intervention therapies.
• Coach, develop, and manage team performance to achieve service, quality, and productivity objectives.
• Monitor payer requirements, coverage policies, and authorization processes to support timely patient access.
• Resolve complex reimbursement, coverage, and escalation issues with payers, providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Analyze operational metrics and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
• Partner with reimbursement, sales, clinical, and patient access teams to address coverage and payment barriers.
• Develop and deliver training on prior authorization workflows, payer requirements, and reimbursement processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, payer guidelines, and applicable healthcare regulations.

 

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience OR Associate's Degree and 3+ years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of supervisory experience OR 3+ years of customer service experience.
• Experience in customer service, patient access, reimbursement support, prior authorization, or healthcare operations.
• Experience leading, supervising, coaching, or directing the work of employees or teams.
• Experience working with healthcare payers, insurance verification, authorization processes, or reimbursement activities.
• Proficiency with customer service systems and Microsoft Office applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting medical device, MedTech, healthcare, or life sciences organizations.
• Experience with prior authorization processes related to pain management, neuromodulation, or specialty therapies.
• Knowledge of reimbursement, coding, coverage, and payment methodologies.
• Experience using case management, patient access, or reimbursement support platforms.
• Experience driving operational improvements through performance metric analysis and process optimization.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$64,000.00 - $96,000.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
