In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.</p><p></p><p><span>As the PCB Designer, you&#39;ll have the chance to work within a team environment to design and draft complex electronic PCBs, associated drawings, and be responsible for schedules and deadlines.</span></p><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Work On:</b></p><ul><li>Create component symbols and footprints per supplier datasheets and IPC standards</li><li>Maintain and support Abbott ECAD Library</li><li>Layout of complex mixed-signal PCB designs</li><li>Provide documentation for fabrication and assembly</li><li>Component pin mapping in complex schematic symbols and PCB footprints</li><li>Layout of PCBs for optimal electrical, EMI, and thermal performance</li><li>PCB Design rules and constraint management</li><li>Perform design rule checks within ECAD tools</li><li>Interface with vendors to import and export data for fabrication of bare boards and installation of electronic and mechanical components</li><li>Collaborate with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Teams to determine board shape, hole patterns, and optimal placement of components</li><li>Interface with Operations and Document Control to release drawings</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>Associate’s degree in a relevant subject</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to analyze and evaluate technologically complex devices</li><li>Ability to work in a diverse business environment</li><li>Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment</li><li>Ability to leverage and engage others to accomplish projects</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication with ability to effectively communicate in the organization</li><li>Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance on-site</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>Experience with Altium Designer</li><li>Familiarity with IPC-6011, IPC-6012, and other related IPC standards for PCBs</li><li>Understanding of PCB fabrication, limitations, and best practices</li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office</li><li>Familiarity with PLM systems such as Windchill</li></ul><p></p><p><a href="https://www.jobs.abbott/us/en" target="_blank"><b>Apply Now</b></a></p><p></p><p><b>Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives:  </b><a href="http://www.abbottbenefits.com/pages/candidate.aspx" target="_blank">www.abbottbenefits.com</a></p><p>Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
