Join Varian’s Proton Therapy team and work with one of the most advanced cancer treatment technologies. As an Onsite Service Engineer, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our Proton Therapy System—the cutting-edge equipment used to precisely target tumors while protecting healthy tissue.

This is a replacement role within our established existing Proton Therapy Service Team. It is suitable for individuals at any career stage who are motivated to grow their technical expertise in a meaningful environment.

What You’ll Do

As part of Varian’s onsite support team, you will:

• Perform hands-on maintenance on proton therapy equipment and supporting systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and keep the system fully functional during clinical hours.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks and support regulatory compliance.
• Hands on work with hardware, software, PCs, networks, and wireless systems.
• Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

Varian provides technical training, including opportunities at EMEA training facilities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Technical education (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or technical diploma).
• Mechanical skills and understanding of electronic or electromechanical systems are essential.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic environment, including shift working hour pattern.

Additional Skills That Are a Plus:

• Experience with computer systems and troubleshooting.
• Interest in medical imaging technology.
• Motivation to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Work Environment

• Onsite role supporting the Proton Therapy Center on site at Helse Bergen
• Hands-on, technical, and impactful work in a clinical environment
