JOB PURPOSE

To provide a high level of medical expertise to achieve the company’s objectives in Oncology and business activities. This position is required people management skills, leadership, and project management. This role reports to Oncology Medical lead.

As a Scientific Advisor, you will act both as a Field-Based Medical Affairs officer and a strategic & scientific hub for external engagement. As a Field-Based Medical Affairs officer, you will provide an expert interface between GSK Medical and the external healthcare community on medical topics. You will also help ensure the safe and effective use of GSK medicine through appropriate scientific dialogue. As a strategic & scientific hub, you will lead EE engagement as well as manage relevant projects. Also, you are responsible for leading non-promo medical activities including medical education & advisory board meeting as well as real-world evidence generation and EAP.

  • Implement effective Medical Affairs planning and execute operational plan to achieve goals in line with the Business plan.

  • Gap analysis on currently available data and execute evidence generation plan.

  • Build peer-to-peer scientific relationships with identified Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations/scientific societies to address their information needs and gain insights that inform GSK medical and research strategies.

  • Gather medical voice of the customer (mVOC) and generate medical insights, securing advice that informs GSK development of medicines of value for the ultimate benefit of patients.

  •  Assemble and manage scientific advisory board meetings and medical education initiatives.

  • Manage pre-launch initiatives including expanded access program 

  • Support clinical study activities by participating in the site identification and assessment process, addressing subject retention and other scientific issues in partnership with study management and monitoring.

  • Act as the trainer and medical/scientific expert for GSK employees regarding GSK products and the conditions they treat.

Requirements

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Medical affairs experience with minimum 8 years of experience, including strategic and project management role

  • Degree in medical or other life sciences.

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience in oncology therapy area preferred.

  • Solid grounding in clinical, medical and pharmaceutical science with the ability to rapidly assimilate specific and detailed knowledge in these areas

  • An understanding of fundamentals of oncology, statistical concepts and analyses

  • Business mindset, understanding of external market dynamics, and ability to balance cross-functional objectives

  • Ability to leverage digital tools to identify & prioritize external stakeholders enhancing overall external engagement

  • Ability to build & maintain trusting relationships with external stakeholders

  • Effective communication & listening skills with right level of curiosity, and agility to tailor information to different audiences appropriately

    • Ability to interpret & translate complex scientific data into simple messages in the context of overall patient care

    • Ability to effectively use multi-channel communication tools to engage external

  • Fluent in English
