We are searching for the best talent for Medical Science Liaison to be in Bogotá.

 

Role purpose

The mission of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is, through personalized scientific interactions, to discuss and evaluate our therapies with physicians and other stakeholders in order to influence medical practice, support informed decision-making, and generate valuable medical insights that contribute to the development and execution of the organization's medical strategy.

Position details

Location: Bogotá, Colombia (field-based with regular visits to healthcare institutions).
Travel Availability: More than 50% travel required.
Driver’s License: Required.

 

Rsponsabilities

• Serve as the scientific and medical expert for internal and external stakeholders.
• Build relationships with academic and community healthcare professionals, focused on influencing medical behavior through the exchange of scientific knowledge.
• Communicate the value of innovation attributes (i.e., efficacy, safety, effectiveness, adherence, and quality of life) to gain stakeholder endorsement of these attributes.
• Execute scientific events within the designated therapeutic areas.
• Shape medical practice by driving behavioral change within the healthcare professional community during early phases: preparing the healthcare environment and medical community, and accelerating adoption (e.g., scientific exchange with investigators and early access programs).
• Design and execute the scientific exchange plan with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in alignment with the strategy and validated by the Medical Department and other internal stakeholders.
• Ensure that continuing medical education programs, aligned with the scientific exchange plan with KOLs, are followed up to monitor the adoption of new knowledge and identify barriers to changes in clinical practice for innovative products.
• Respond to scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals, investigators, healthcare systems, and healthcare decision-makers, integrating scientific data into real-world practice to meet customer and audience needs.
• Gather insights from field interactions regarding scientific knowledge, treatment paradigms, the competitive landscape, medical needs, and opportunities.
• Identify potential sites and support site recruitment activities when needed, in alignment with the Medical Department.

Minimum qualifications

• Degree in Health Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related scientific field, along with relevant postgraduate education.
• Deep scientific knowledge of the therapeutic area and the ability to interpret and disseminate scientific data.
• Relevant professional experience within the healthcare sector or academic research.
• Previous experience as an MSL (preferred but not mandatory).
• English proficiency: C1-C2 level.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong critical and strategic thinking skills.

• Strong communication and information-sharing skills.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical research and development (R&D) environment.
• Teamwork, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively in matrix organizations and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
• Commitment to the values of the Johnson & Johnson Credo.
• Technology savvy; proficient and willing to leverage digital and technological tools in daily work activities.
• More than 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, demonstrating the capabilities and competencies associated with the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role (preferred but not mandatory).
