A Day in the Life

The Tool Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing innovative and reliable industrial solutions to support product transfer from R&D to Swiss Medtronic Operations (SMO) sites and to support operations at the high-volume facilities based in EMEA.

The Tool engineer is responsible to create a wide variety of mechanical design from simple support to highly complex assemblies. The designed Toolings are used for the manufacturing of pacemakers and defibrillators in the same facility. Thus, the work of the tool engineer contributes to human welfare.

This position reports to the Engineering Supervisor, part of the Mechanical Services team, in the Development Engineering department. The Mechanical Services team is composed with designers and mechanical technicians. The in-house machine shop allows dynamic interactions during the design phase.
