R75145 Manager – Professional IT Application Expert (SAP EWM)

We are seeking a Manager – Professional IT Application Expert (SAP EWM) to design, build, enhance, and deploy IT solutions supporting Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Labeling operations in a GMP/GxP‑regulated environment. This role serves as an IT Business Partner for SAP EWM / WM / MM, ensuring solutions meet business requirements while adhering to Lonza standards, policies, and quality requirements. The position contributes to solution design, implementation, and continuous improvement of warehouse management processes and systems, while providing 3rd‑level support for complex incidents and problem resolution in the SAP logistics landscape.
Key Accountabilities
- Review and challenge business requirements, advise stakeholders on IT solutions, and translate needs into functional specifications and designs.
- Take ownership as (sub‑)project manager or functional lead in initiatives, ensuring delivery in line with scope, timelines, quality standards, and compliance.
- Facilitate workshops with business and IT stakeholders to define requirements, align on solutions, and drive decision‑making.
- Configure and customize SAP EWM and related logistics solutions, ensuring consistency with global processes and governance.
- Define and own functional test scripts, execute functional testing, and support business testing in a GMP‑regulated environment.
- Support Computer System Validation (CSV) activities and ensure solutions comply with GMP/GxP requirements.
- Prepare training documentation, deliver training sessions, and support knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, integration, development, and authorization teams to deliver IT solutions.
- Support and maintain interfaces between SAP EWM and external systems (automation, MES, labeling, logistics partners).
- Manage external consultants and service providers involved in projects or support services.
- Provide 3rd‑level support for complex incidents and problems, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support change, release, and problem management processes in line with ITIL practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of Lonza’s IT application landscape, identifying optimization opportunities and innovative solutions.
- Stay current with SAP technology developments and industry trends, advising stakeholders on relevant innovations.
Key Requirements
Domain Expertise
- Strong expertise in SAP EWM.
- Proven knowledge of SAP WM and SAP MM.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM (embedded and/or decentralized).
- Understanding of decentralized EWM architecture and communications (qRFC, IDoc).
- Experience with automated warehouse environments; exposure to AGV‑integrated landscapes, robotics, or WCS/MFS is an advantage.
- Hands‑on experience with Handling Unit Management, Mobile Data Entry/barcoding, and external system interfaces.
- Cross‑functional knowledge of SAP PP, QM, and SD.
- Solid configuration and customization expertise within SAP logistics solutions.
- Understanding of warehouse and supply chain processes, preferably in regulated industries.
- Experience in GMP/GxP environments and CSV processes.
- Familiarity with ITIL‑based service management (incident, change, problem management).

- Exposure to large‑scale logistics transformation programs, including SAP ECC to S/4HANA migrations.
- Experience in global life sciences or pharmaceutical environments.
