The MAPP solution provides a centralized digital framework for managing, documenting, and approving interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), government officials, and third-party entities across global markets. The solution is a cornerstone of Pfizer’s compliance infrastructure, ensuring that all business activities are conducted with integrity and transparency.</p><p></p><p>In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust, scalable, and secure Appian applications that support critical business processes across the enterprise. This role serves as a technical expert in Appian architecture and development, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards, performance expectations, and security frameworks. This role partners closely with Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and cross‑functional Agile teams to deliver high‑quality applications, integrations, and reusable components.</p><p></p><p>The position requires deep expertise in Appian platform capabilities—including process models, interfaces, rules, data design, integrations, and modern low‑code patterns—and strong judgment in applying best practices to create maintainable, future‑proof solutions. In addition to hands‑on development, the this role mentors junior team members, influences design decisions, contributes to architectural discussions, and evaluates new Appian features and industry trends to guide continuous improvement</p><p></p><p>In this role, you will need to work collaboratively and negotiate with individuals outside your direct authority to achieve the business strategy.</p><p></p><p></p><p><b>ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li><p>Partner with product owners, analysts, and stakeholders to <b>gather and refine requirements</b>, convert them into technical scope, user stories, and acceptance criteria</p></li><li><p>Identify <b>integration touchpoints and dependencies</b> (APIs, data sources), and contribute to effort estimates and sprint planning.</p></li><li><p><b>Design end‑to‑end Appian solutions</b> (data model/CDTs &amp; Records, SAIL UX, process models, security model) aligned to best practices and enterprise standards.</p></li><li><p>Define integration approaches (REST/SOAP, RDBMS, third‑party connectors) and document <b>design patterns and performance considerations</b>.</p></li><li><p>Implement Appian components: <b>SAIL interfaces, process models, rules/expressions, Records, CDTs, Web APIs, reports, and integrations</b></p></li><li><p>Enforce <b>code standards, reuse strategies, and design patterns</b>; mentor peers and conduct peer reviews during sprints</p></li><li><p>Optimize during development for <b>UX and performance</b> (efficient queries, orchestration, paging, caching, responsive UIs)</p></li><li><p>Perform <b>unit testing and code reviews</b>; validate security roles and data access; fix defects proactively.</p></li><li><p>Conduct <b>performance tuning and troubleshooting</b> using logs, performance dashboards, and Appian Health Check prior to release</p></li><li><p><b>Package and promote</b> applications across environments with Appian deployment tooling/Admin Console; maintain release notes and rollback plans</p></li><li><p>Coordinate releases with QA/DevOps and stakeholders; ensure compliance with <b>quality and security gates</b> in Agile increments.</p></li><li><p><b>Stabilize and support</b> post‑go‑live: monitor, triage, resolve incidents; perform root‑cause analysis and deliver hotfixes.</p></li><li><p>Drive <b>continuous improvement</b>: adopt new Appian features, refine reusable components, update standards, and mentor the team.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Bachelor’s degree</b> in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field</p></li><li><p><b>5-10 years of development experience</b>, with at least 2 years of <b>hands-on Appian development experience </b>including SAIL, process models, records, reports, integrations, and interfaces</p></li><li><p>Strong expertise in <b>Appian plug-ins</b>, <b>Appian Web APIs</b>, <b>data stores</b>, and <b>Appian object management</b></p></li><li><p>Experience designing and implementing <b>complex workflow automations</b> and <b>enterprise-scale Appian applications</b></p></li><li><p>Proficiency in <b>RESTful API integration</b>, <b>JSON/XML</b>, and working with relational databases (SQL)</p></li><li><p>Solid understanding of <b>software development lifecycle (SDLC)</b> and Agile delivery methodologies</p></li><li><p>Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Appian solutions with <b>strong analytical and problem‑solving skills</b></p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across <b>cross‑functional teams</b>, architects, and business stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Strong background in <b>Appian architecture</b>, including performance tuning, scalability, and object governance</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><ul><li><p><b>Appian Certified Senior Developer (ACSPD)</b> or Appian Lead certification preferred</p></li><li><p>Expertise with <b>CI/CD pipelines</b>, DevOps practices, and Appian’s deployment automation tools</p><p></p></li><li><p>Familiarity with <b>Process Mining</b>, AI-enabled workflows, and low-code automation strategies</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of <b>data modeling</b>, relational databases, and enterprise data architectures</p><p></p></li></ul><p></p><p> <br />Work Location Assignment: Hybrid</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Pfizer is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable equal employment opportunity legislation in each jurisdiction in which it operates.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Information &amp; Business Tech<p></p><p></p>
