<p><b>Manager Commercial Training and Education (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada)</b></p><p><b>Life Unlimited. </b>At Smith&#43;Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.   </p><p></p><p>The <b>Canadian Sales Trainer</b> is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering high-impact training programs, field coaching, and ongoing professional development to enable a high-performing sales organization across <b>Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Advanced Wound Management</b>. This role ensures that every sales professional in Canada is equipped with the product knowledge, clinical expertise, and selling skills necessary to deliver superior commercial results and best-in-class customer experiences. </p><p></p><p>A key focus of this position is to <b>own the onboarding and training experience for all new hires</b> across the three franchises, ensuring consistent integration, certification, and cultural alignment with Smith&#43;Nephew’s standards of excellence. </p><p></p><p><b>Location: Mississauga Ontario, office based 3 days per week </b></p><p></p><p><b>What will you be doing?</b></p><p><b>Training Delivery &amp; Field Coaching </b></p><ul><li>Plan, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive training programs for both new and tenured sales professionals across all three business franchises. </li></ul><ul><li>Facilitate learning through diverse methods including classroom instruction, virtual sessions, field-based coaching, and on-the-job training. </li></ul><ul><li>Certify sales representatives on required competencies including product knowledge, procedural expertise, competitive differentiation, and selling methodologies. </li></ul><ul><li>Conduct field ride-alongs (~20% of time) to assess and reinforce application of clinical, procedural, and sales enablement skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Deliver training content aligned with the Global Commercial Training &amp; Education (CT&#43;E) competency framework and ensure consistent execution of the Smith&#43;Nephew selling process. </li></ul><ul><li>Maintain accurate training documentation and progress tracking through the Learning Unlimited platform and CRM tools. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Onboarding &amp; Development </b></p><ul><li>Lead and coordinate the full onboarding process for new sales hires across <b>Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Advanced Wound Management</b> in Canada. </li></ul><ul><li>Partner with HR, Sales Leadership, and Global Training to ensure a structured, engaging, and impactful onboarding journey that accelerates time-to-performance. </li></ul><ul><li>Evaluate onboarding effectiveness and make continuous improvements to program design and delivery. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Coaching &amp; Performance Enablement </b></p><ul><li>Act as a mentor and role model for the salesforce and field managers, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and coaching excellence. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with managers to identify performance gaps and co-develop individual development plans. </li></ul><ul><li>Establish governance and tracking metrics to measure coaching impact and learning outcomes. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Strategic Training Planning &amp; Collaboration </b></p><ul><li>Conduct ongoing training needs assessments in partnership with Commercial Leaders, Marketing, and Clinical teams to align training with business priorities. </li></ul><ul><li>Develop annual and quarterly training plans to support corporate strategies and growth objectives. </li></ul><ul><li>Collaborate with Global/US CT&#43;E partners to leverage corporate training resources and maximize learning efficiency. </li></ul><ul><li>Represent the Canadian CT&#43;E function in leadership meetings, sharing progress reports, ROI metrics, and strategic recommendations. </li></ul><ul><li>Support the utilization and continuous improvement of the <b>Customer Experience &amp; Innovation Lab</b> for hands-on training and product demonstrations. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>What will you need to be successful?</b></p><ul><li>Dynamic and engaging public speaker with excellent facilitation and presentation skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire others. </li></ul><ul><li>Creative thinker with experience designing branded or instructional content. </li></ul><ul><li>Highly organized, process-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. </li></ul><ul><li>Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. </li></ul><ul><li>Strong understanding of sales effectiveness principles, adult learning methodologies, and coaching frameworks. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Education &amp; Certifications</b> </p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required. </li></ul><ul><li>Bilingual (English proficiency required; French proficiency strongly preferred). </li></ul><ul><li>Certifications in adult learning, facilitation, or coaching (e.g., Langevin Learning, Bob Pike, Train-the-Trainer, Challenger, Lane 4) are an asset. </li></ul><ul><li>Project management and/or instructional design certifications are a plus. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>Experience</b> </p><ul><li>3–7 years’ experience in commercial, training, or marketing roles within the <b>medical device or healthcare industry</b> (preferably with Smith&#43;Nephew or similar organizations). </li></ul><ul><li>Proven success in sales training delivery, field coaching, or commercial enablement roles. </li></ul><ul><li>In-depth understanding of sales processes, medical device markets, and customer engagement dynamics. </li></ul><p></p><p><b>You Unlimited. </b></p><p>We believe in creating the greatest good for society.
