This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on industrial production equipment, including molding systems, auxiliary equipment, electrical systems, and facility HVAC.This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined technician with strong electrical and diagnostic experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.<div></div>Core Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on injection molding machines and associated auxiliary equipment</li><li>Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, controls, sensors, relays, and AC/DC drives</li><li>Diagnosing mechanical failures involving hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, pumps, and drive systems</li><li>Support troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment (basic fault tracing and component replacement)</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical manuals</li><li>Maintain and repair HVAC and facility support systems as needed</li><li>Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat failures</li><li>Document maintenance activities and work orders in SAP</li><li>Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to improve equipment uptime and reliability</li><li>Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, reliability, and process stability</li><li>Follow OSHA and company safety standards including LOTO procedures</li></ul><div></div>Required Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or GED</li><li>3+ years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment</li><li>Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience working as a mechanic or Technician</li></ul><div></div>Technical Skills & ExperienceRequired<ul><li>Electrical diagnostics (120V–480V systems)</li><li>Hydraulics and pneumatics troubleshooting</li><li>Mechanical systems repair (bearings, belts, couplings, alignment)</li><li>Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics</li><li>Strong documentation and communication skills</li><li>2+ years experience working on molding machines</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Motor controls and VFD troubleshooting</li><li>Working knowledge of AC/DC drives</li><li>Experience with industrial automation systems</li><li>CMMS/SAP experience</li></ul><div></div>Physical Requirements<ul><li>Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally assisted lifting above 50 lbs.</li><li>Extended standing and walking</li><li>Occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling</li><li>Ability to work safely around energized systems and moving machinery</li></ul>What We Offer Compensation<ul><li>Competitive Hourly Pay Rate</li><li>Additional shift differential if applicable</li><li>Annual performance-based bonus</li><li>Annual merit performance-based increase</li></ul>Excellent Benefits<ul><li><a href="https://jobs.thermofisher.com/global/en/total-rewards" target="_blank">Benefits & Total Rewards | Thermo Fisher Scientific </a></li><li>Medical, Dental, & Vision benefits-effective Day 1</li><li>Paid Time Off & Designated Paid Holidays</li><li>401K</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li><li>Employee Referral Bonus</li><li>Career Advancement Opportunities</li></ul><div></div>Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $25.58–$38.37.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
