Description

Contribute to novel computer vision and machine learning algorithms development that meet real-world performance and safety enhancements for the users of the system. Contribute to organizing large quantities of surgical vision data for algorithm development purposes. Apply state-of-the-art knowledge in areas of computer vision and machine learning to surgical vision domain. Develop, deploy, and maintain reproducible ML pipelines, ensuring robust experiment tracking, model versioning, and scalable deployment workflows (MLOps). Work closely with cross-functional teams (Software and Clinical) to ensure the engineering integrity and clinical relevance of the project. Conduct technical presentations of the project in a cross-functional team environment. You will be mentored by our experienced ML engineer as you obtain hands-on experience within a growing medical device start-up.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, in the final or penultimate year. Strong proficiency in Python. Hands-on experience with PyTorch and a solid understanding of model training pipelines. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), experiment tracking, and reproducibility best practices. Experience or strong interest in MLOps tools (such as MLflow), CI/CD pipelines, and artifact management. Highly rigorous, structured, and automation-oriented, with the ability to synthesize, document, and formalize technical decisions. Curious, self-driven, and collaborative within an R&D environment.
