- Partner closely with engineering teams to shape supplier strategy, selection, and early design decisions
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that meet technical, quality, and cost requirements
- Participate in design reviews, providing input on manufacturability, cost optimization, and supplier feasibility
- Drive cost optimization initiatives, including should-cost analysis and supplier negotiations
- Balance cost, quality, and innovation in sourcing decisions
- Bring forward supplier capabilities, new technologies, and ideas to support product development
- Own ongoing supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and cost metrics
- Proactively identify and mitigate supplier-related risks
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, sourcing, and manufacturing teams
- Support and expand early supplier involvement (ESI) capabilities within MR
- Ensure suppliers meet all quality and regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, supplier engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain within a technical environment
- Hands-on experience working with engineering specifications, technical drawings, and product requirements
- Experience working directly with suppliers (sourcing, supplier quality, manufacturing, or similar)
- Proven ability to understand and communicate technical requirements across engineering teams and suppliers
- Experience leading or owning sourcing efforts for new product introduction (NPI) or product development programs
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
