Monday to Friday, standard day hours, 37 hours per week
100% onsite
Our Bathgate location in Scotland, UK is an integral part of Catalent’s European clinical supply services network. This facility has a comprehensive range of capabilities to support sponsors’ studies throughout the UK, Europe and beyond, including clinical supply management, FastChain® demand-led supply, clinical-scale commercial packaging, and QP release services.
As a Lead Operator, you will support daily packaging operations, uphold GMP standards, and contribute to our SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost) performance. You’ll take responsibility for key activities within packaging projects, provide daily operational updates, and help maintain a culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
The Role:
Environmental, Quality & Safety
Promote pollution prevention and minimise environmental impact.
Ensure clinical trial supplies meet cGMP standards.
Support SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost) targets.
Demonstrate Catalent values and behaviours.
Operational & Packaging Activities
Follow EHS, COSHH and safety guidelines.
Maintain high standards of Good Housekeeping.
Complete GMP‑compliant documentation.
Label, assemble and package clinical trial materials.
Record and report deviations promptly.
Prepare packaging documents, including Special Projects.
Conduct study briefings and manage batch records.
Collaboration & Workflow Management
Liaise with other departments to maintain material quality.
Support timelines and master schedule delivery.
Provide daily schedule updates.
Escalate issues that may affect timelines.
Deputise for supervisors when needed.
Support other operational areas as required.
Training & Development
Attend required training and maintain training records.
Complete tasks aligned with the skills matrix.
Participate in cross‑training across operational areas.
The Candidate:
Basic numeracy and the ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Understanding of the industry we operate in.
Good computer literacy.
