Description
<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong> The Engineering Laboratory Technician II performs a diverse number of engineering technician tasks in support of Cadwell’s industry-leading neuro-diagnostics equipment. They support<strong> </strong>the continuous maintenance and improvement of released products, support engineering with research, development, and design verification activities in the pursuit of new products, and assist in the creation and maintenance of manufacturing test procedures and equipment.</p>

<p><strong>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Troubleshoots electronic circuit boards and systems down to the circuit component level, <strong>analyzes and assists in root-cause analysis of</strong> identified failures; <strong>works with</strong> the responsible engineer to <strong>evaluate design improvements</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Supports changes to component lifecycle by performing and documenting component verification tests at request of the responsible engineer.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Performs <strong>advanced</strong> soldering, crimping, and mechanical assembly to support the creation and/or modification of development prototypes for engineering as directed.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Plans and</strong> performs verification testing and documents results for product designs or changes<strong> </strong>as defined by the responsible engineer to ensure high quality Cadwell’s designs. Reports results back to the responsible engineer.</li>
<li>Performs and documents material inspections on production materials based on test plans<strong> </strong>provided by the responsible engineer; <strong>applies knowledge of manufacturing processes and workmanship standards to issues identified.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Independently</strong> builds and maintains the necessary tools, fixtures, and equipment used in our manufacturing and service teams as defined by the responsible engineer.</li>
<li>Collaborates and assists other Cadwell engineers, production staff, and service personnel as needed.</li>

<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Thorough</strong> knowledge of analog and digital circuits and components<strong> as well as common troubleshooting strategies for both</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Ability to read and interpret <strong>complex</strong> schematics, datasheets, and perform component-level printed circuit board troubleshooting with limited engineering guidance.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Skilled in soldering both surface-mount and through-hole electronics, crimping wires, and assembling <strong>complex</strong> electronic systems.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving larger electronic systems and assemblies.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Ability to perform and document clear and accurate results of electrical and mechanical safety tests.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li><strong>Thorough</strong> knowledge on the use of digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.</li>
<li>Ability to clearly communicate detailed technical information in both written and verbal form.</li>
<li><strong>Working</strong> knowledge using Altium 365 or similar PCB design software for the use of troubleshooting and signal tracing.</li>
<li><strong>Working </strong>knowledge of mechanical CAD tools, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, and/or Autodesk Inventor.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Working knowledge of the processes, standards, and equipment used in the manufacture of electronic products.</strong><strong>Preferred working knowledge of applicable EMC terminology and test practices.</strong><strong>Preferred working knowledge of relevant medical device safety standards.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Education / Experience:&nbsp;</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies or equivalent work experience.</li>
<li>Typically has greater than five (5) years of relevant experience as an engineering technician or electronics technician.</li>
<li>Preferred experience working in a regulated environment, ideally in a medical or similar safety and/or reliability focused industry.</li>
