This is a rare opportunity to design, build, and scale new characterization and phys-chem. profiling laboratories within a global CDMO environment. You’ll play a central role in defining how we develop drug products in the future and which technologies we use—from early-stage innovation through to launch. What will you do? As Lab Head in our R&D organization, you will: • Build and lead new analytical and physico-chemical development labs (infrastructure, instrumentation, digital tools, and workflows) • Establish state-of-the-art characterization and analytical capabilities supporting formulation and process development • Drive IT-supported, stability-indicating LC method development • Design and execute: •Biorelevant solubility and dissolution studies •Physico-chemical characterization of APIs and drug products (DP) •Accelerated stability studies (ASAP) • Lead solid-state and material science activities: •Salt, polymorph, and cocrystal screening •Particle and bulk material characterization • Implement modern, data-driven and digital approaches to analytical development • Collaborate closely with formulation, process, and manufacturing teams • Build and foster a culture of scientific excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing What makes this role unique? • Build from scratch: Shape labs, technologies, and ways of working • High visibility: Direct impact on Siegfried’s global development capabilities • Scientific depth: Work at the interface of material science, analytics, and formulation • International scope: Work across Switzerland and Spain in a collaborative environmentYour Profile:What are we looking for? • PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or closely related field • Proven experience in pharmaceutical or analytical development (at originator or large CDMO) • Strong expertise in CMC development, especially formulation and process development• Hands-on experience with: - LC method development (including stability-indicating methods)- Solid-state characterization and material science- Solubility (apparent, intrinsic) measurements and Biorelevant Dissolution • A builder mindset: you thrive in creating new capabilities rather than maintaining existing ones • GMP experience is a plus but not required • Strong leadership potential and collaborative spirit • Fluency in English; additional local language skills are a plusYour Benefits: What do we offer?
