<p style="text-align:left"><b>Work Schedule</b></p>Standard (Mon-Fri)<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Environmental Conditions</b></p>Office<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><b><u>Job Description</u></b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Japanese Language Specialist</b></p><p>Thermo Fisher Scientific Language Services is looking for a Japanese Language Specialist with experience in clinical translation and quality assurance to join the internal team. Essential functions would include:</p><ul><li>Coordinating and managing the final quality of assigned translations to ensure a high quality standard.</li><li>Running language assets, e.g. translation memories, terminology and style guides.</li><li>Performing occasional linguistic tasks including initial translation, revision, client feedback implementation</li><li>Performing quality checks on clinical translations (ICFs, protocols, IBs, patient diaries, etc.).</li><li>Developing and maintaining terminology and style guides for the Japanese language</li><li>Ensuring Japanese translation memories are updated.</li><li>Setting and executing linguistic quality assurance process for the assigned language globally as required.</li><li>Using CAT technology to monitor quality of outsourced language translations and external suppliers.</li><li>Analyzing language quality issues and working on any quality improvement plans with project management team.</li></ul><p><b>Applicants should meet one of the below educational/professional requirements:</b> </p><p>Bachelor&#39;s degree in translations, linguistics or language studies with significant translation studies from a recognized institution or higher education.</p><p>Bachelor&#39;s degree in another field and 2 years of full-time translation experience (preferred in clinical translation).If no Bachelor&#39;s degree, 5 years of full-time translation experience (preferred in clinical translation).</p><p><b>Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</b></p><p>Native Language: Japanese</p><p><b>CAT/TMS Tool Experience Required</b></p><p>Proven Terminology and TM experience required</p><p>Proven skills of multi-tasking, time management, organization, and attention to detail</p><p>Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills</p><p>Proficiency in MS Office suite</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
