Look no further.<div><div><div><div><div>How you'll make a difference?</div><div>The major focus for the Intern – Design Engineer will be to support either implant or instrument designs for a next generation cervical, interbody, or fixation system within the spinal implants product development group. You will focus on instrument design, modeling, and drawing creation as well as participate in weekly core team meetings and surgeon calls or on-site meetings. Additionally, you will support bench top testing and cadaver lab(s) to evaluate designs and test instruments and implants in simulated surgical settings. </div><div> </div><div>What will your duties and responsibilities be? The following are the essential functions of this position. This position may be responsible for performing additional duties and tasks as needed and assigned. </div><ul><li>Work within a project team to contribute original concepts for new product development </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Provide weekly progress status updates to Project Lead </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Generating Engineering Models and Prints Based on Marketing Inputs </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Collaborating with the Machine Shop and Outside Suppliers to Generate Prototypes </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Completing Verification Testing in Prove Out Design Outputs </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Completing Validation Testing in a Cadaveric Lab to Confirm Met User Requirements </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Generating Test Protocols and Reports to Document Test Methods and Results </li></ul></div><div> </div><div>What skills and experience will you need? </div><div>The requirements listed below are representative of the education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position. </div><div> </div><div>Education/Certifications: </div><div><ul><li>HS Diploma or equivalent required </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Enrollment in Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Junior or Senior level standing, or graduate student </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>3.0 GPA </li></ul></div><div> </div><div>Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities: </div><div><ul><li>A basic understanding of CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or NX) </li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) </li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>Engineering discipline of study in Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Bioengineering </li></ul></div><div> </div><div>What qualifications are preferred?</div><div>The education, knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed below are preferred qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications stated above. </div><div> </div><div>Education/Certifications: </div><div><ul><li>Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering Major from an ABET accredited program </li></ul></div><div> </div><div>Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities: </div><div><ul><li>CAD modeling experience with Creo </li></ul></div></div></div><div></div></div>The anticipated base hourly rate for an employee who is located in California this position is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour.
