Summary:
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Industrial Engineering Senior Manager located in Prai, Penang.
Responsible for managing a team of industrial engineers working on increasing productivity through the management of workers, methods of business organization, and technology to solve organizational, production, and related problems efficiently.
What a typical day looks like:
Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data, such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
May develop management systems for cost reviews, financial planning, wage and salary administration, and job evaluation
Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems to coordinate activities and ensure product quality.
Designs or improve systems for the physical distribution of goods and services, as well as defining the most efficient plant locations.
Organizes details into a broad view of the total operations and organization of Flex.
Partners with other engineering team members to design manufacturable new products
Manages initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.
Implements appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce
Impacts the long-term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site.
Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies.
Establishes and ensures effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site.
May have P&L responsibility for the function.
Develops plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training. A Master's or MBA Degree is preferred.
Typically requires a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience including supervision.
Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
