Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.<br><br>The Head of Public Affairs, Taiwan is responsible for driving Novartis’ policy and advocacy strategy to create an optimal environment for priority therapeutic areas and products. This role shapes external policy to address immediate business risks and opportunities while positioning Novartis for long-term success. Acting as a trusted partner, the Head of Public Affairs builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers. The position also provides strategic political intelligence and counsel to internal business leaders and, depending on scope, leads and develops a small team to deliver impactful policy initiatives.<p style="text-align:inherit"><br /> </p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description</b></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities: </b></p><div><div><ul><li><p>Lead government and trade association engagement for Novartis in the market, building strategic partnerships with senior government officials and key stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Identify and prioritize policy objectives in alignment with business leaders, addressing both short-term risks and long-term opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Develop and execute advocacy strategies on high-priority topics in coordination with regional teams, Country President (CP), and Country Leadership Team (CLT).</p></li><li><p>Design and implement product-specific public affairs strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams to support market access and business goals.</p></li><li><p>Provide expert political and policy analysis, monitoring trends and advising senior management on potential impacts and strategic responses.</p></li><li><p>Role model Novartis culture and lead talent development, fostering a high-performance team and ensuring capability growth within the assigned area.</p></li></ul></div></div><p><br /><b>Essential Requirements: </b></p><ul><li><p>Advanced degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Healthcare, or related field; MBA or equivalent experience is an advantage</p></li><li><p>Proven track record in shaping healthcare policy and leading advocacy initiatives within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.</p></li><li><p>Strong people leadership skills with experience managing and developing talent, including oversight of Public Affairs Managers or similar roles.</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of political trends and regulatory frameworks; capable of providing strategic counsel to senior management on policy risks and opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in English (written &amp; spoken) and local language.</p></li><li><p>10&#43; years in public affairs public policy or related. Multinational experience preferred. </p></li><li><p>Ability to build trusted relationships with government bodies, industry associations, and key external stakeholders; skilled in influencing policy decisions.
