Join us in our mission to make a difference.</p><p></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Head of Media Relations to lead our global media strategy and strengthen Bavarian Nordic’s presence across international media. This is a high-impact role with responsibility for shaping the external narrative around vaccines, public health preparedness, and the our mission.</p><p></p><p>Working closely with the Head of Corporate Affairs, the CEO, the Commercial organization, and senior leadership, you will play a central role in positioning Bavarian Nordic as a trusted and credible voice in global health. The role reports to the Head of Corporate Affairs and can be based in Denmark or Germany. Depending on location, 1-2 trips a quarter should be expected.</p><p></p><p><b>The role</b><br />As Head of Media Relations, you will own and drive the company’s global media engagement, acting as a strategic advisor to senior leaders. You will build strong relationships with international media, identify opportunities to elevate the company’s voice, and ensure consistent, credible, and impactful messaging across markets.</p><p></p><p>The role is part of a six-person Corporate Affairs team covering External and Internal Communications, social media, digital and corporate Brand, public affairs, and executive office support. The team reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Executive Management team on strategic communications. Key responsibilities include<br /> </p><ul><li><p>Define and execute the global media strategy to strengthen reputation and visibility across key markets.</p></li><li><p>Build and manage relationships with international journalists and relevant influencers.</p></li><li><p>Drive proactive media engagement, storytelling, and high‑quality coverage.</p></li><li><p>Provide strategic input to press releases, announcements, and media materials.</p></li><li><p>Partner closely with Commercial leadership to align media activity with business priorities, product launches, and key milestones.</p></li><li><p>Position the company as a credible thought leader in vaccines and public health, contributing to public debate and policy discussions.</p></li><li><p>Advise senior executives on media relations and public messaging.</p></li><li><p>Support initiatives that strengthen global reputation and stakeholder engagement.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What you bring</b><br />We are looking for a strategic communicator with strong media instincts, an international perspective, and the ability to operate confidently at the executive level. We are looking for someone who holds<br /> </p><ul><li><p>8–12 years of experience in corporate communications or media relations, preferably within biotech, vaccines, life sciences, or healthcare</p></li><li><p>A strong track record of securing coverage in major international media, supported by a well‑established European journalist network; US media relationships are an advantage</p></li><li><p>Proven experience advising senior executives and leadership teams</p></li></ul><p><br />You bring a strategic mindset with the ability to develop and lead global media strategies, translate complex scientific topics into clear and compelling narratives, and navigate fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environments.
