Head of Legal Emerging Markets

<p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description Summary</b></p>At Novartis, we are reimagining medicine to improve and extend people’s lives. As Legal Head for Emerging Markets, you will be a strategic legal partner to the Country President and leadership team. You will provide proactive, business-focused legal counsel and drive the implementation of Novartis legal strategy in the following countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Mongolia, Moldova.<p style="text-align:inherit"><br /> </p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Job Description</b></p><p><b>Role Responsibilities Include</b>:</p><ul><li>Acts as a member of the Leadership Team of Emerging Markets.</li><li>Acts as a trusted business partner to senior leadership, providing legal guidance on complex and sensitive matters.</li><li>Ensures timely and effective legal advice to all the activities in Emerging Markets.</li><li>Leads legal operations in Emerging Markets, ensuring compliance with local and global regulations.</li><li>Contributes to and influences Emerging Markets business strategy and decision-making processes.</li><li>Anticipates and counsels regarding major legal and reputational risks to the business.</li><li>Manages external lawyers.</li></ul><p><b>Key Requirements for the Role</b></p><ul><li>University degree in Law and legal accreditation preferably in Kazakhstan.</li><li>Minimum 5 years legal experience.</li><li>Experience in pharmaceutical business is a strong advantage.</li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.</li><li>Persuasive negotiator</li><li>Strong business acumen, learning agility, open-minded, able to work with different cultures and leadership styles.</li><li>Fluency in English (written and spoken).</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Key performance indicators: </b></p><ul><li>Provide problem solving, business oriented legal advice; to be assessed with appropriate customer feedback.</li><li>Compliance with reporting obligations.</li><li>Setting priorities and managing a wide-ranging workload.</li></ul><p></p><p style="text-align:inherit"><br /> </p><p style="text-align:left"><b>Skills Desired</b></p>Business Development, Business Partners, Career Development, Computer Cluster, Data Privacy, Finance, Internet, Law (Legal System), Legal Advice, Litigation Law, Negotiation Skills, Private Equity, Tax
