The Head of Business Performance Controlling Canada is responsible for leading and overseeing all business performance controlling activities at country level. The role ensures financial transparency, alignment between financial targets and operational execution, drives performance analysis, supports strategic decision-making, and enhances profitability and process improvements through data-driven insight. This position acts as a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team, directly reporting to the Head of Finance Canada.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead and manage the country business performance controlling function

  • Lead and manage financial closing process, provide first messaging to Country Management and NAM Controlling

  • Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes

  • Monitor business performance against targets and KPIs

  • Provide in-depth variance analysis and actionable recommendations

  • Develop performance dashboards and management reporting tools

  • Ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of financial data, compliance with financial reporting guidelines

  • Support strategic initiatives with financial analysis and scenario planning

  • Identify risks and opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership

  • Responsible for delivery of offline financial data and ad-hoc reporting per global requirements 

  • Implement and continuously improve controlling processes and systems, drive digitalization and automation

  • Manage in-scope audit activities (internal & external); effectively document and execute internal controls 

  • Manage tax reporting; perform transfer price review & related adjustments with tax experts

  • Lead and develop the controlling team. As a manager, inspire, communicate, lead to attract and retain talent. Provide leadership, cross-training, and coaching to develop team members

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field

  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA) preferred.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial controlling

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing a team

  • Strong knowledge of financial models, KPI frameworks and risk management concepts

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence and lead in a global matrix

 

The expected Compensation for this position is: $140,000-$190,000 CAD

Factors which may affect starting compensation within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
