Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Product Manager in our Laboratory Plastics Essentials business unit. This influential role offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact by managing and developing OEM plastics for production and diagnostics applications.</p><p><br />As a key player in our team, you&#39;ll report directly to the General Manager of Production, Plates and Storage and your expertise will be crucial in enhancing our product portfolio&#39;s value by managing existing products and spearheading the development of new offerings.</p><p></p><p>Onsite: Rochester, NY</p><p><br />Key Responsibilities:<br /><br />Product Life Cycle Management<br />• Craft and execute innovative positioning strategies for products and services, balancing price, volume, share, and profitability to drive market success.<br />• Lead promotional strategies that fuel revenue growth and capture market attention.<br />• Spearhead cross-functional teams in the exciting journey of bringing new products from concept to market reality.</p><p>• Be the voice of the customer, ensuring our products not only meet but exceed market needs through continuous improvement and innovation.<br />• Inspire and educate global teams through engaging training activities, including sales campaigns, webinars, and conference presentations.<br />• Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring industry trends and competitive offerings, strengthening our product line&#39;s market position.<br />• Drive strategic portfolio management, including identifying opportunities for product optimization and cost-effective management.</p><p>• Play a pivotal role in shaping the future by contributing to the 5-year strategic planning process for the business segment.</p><p><br />Product Line Performance<br />• Champion high-impact initiatives focused on revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and delivery optimization.</p><p>• Provide expert guidance on product positioning and strategic marketing plans, directly influencing our go-to-market strategies.</p><p>• Deliver insightful monthly performance reports and forecasts, contributing to data-driven decision-making at the highest levels.</p><p><br />Market Research and Competitive Intelligence<br />• Lead market research, competitive analysis, and voice of customer (VOC) initiatives, uncovering new business opportunities and driving product innovation.<br />Join us in this exciting role where you&#39;ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the scientific community while advancing your career in a supportive, innovative environment.<br /><br /><b>REQUIREMENTS</b>:<br />Desired Experience</p><p>• Proven experience in product planning and product life-cycle management, including portfolio planning, market research, market strategy, and value-based pricing<br />• Demonstrated success in a Global Product Management role, driving overall portfolio strategy<br />• Strong capability to conduct financial analyses, develop financial models, and interpret P&amp;L statements as they relate to the product portfolio<br />• Successful track record of launching new products from concept through market introduction<br />• Proficiency in working with customers, commercial teams, and various sales channels, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 distributors and direct sales</p><p><br />Minimum Education &amp; Previous Experience Requirements:<br />• BS or MS degree in life science field with an MBA highly preferred.<br />• Minimum of five years of work experience in a product management, project management, field applications and/or technical services</p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><u><b>Compensation and Benefits</b></u></p>The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $110,000.00–$137,000.00.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
