This position is ideal for candidates who are 0-1 years out of college and looking to kick-start their career in cybersecurity. As a Junior Security Operations Analyst, you will assist in monitoring, analysing and responding to security threats and incidents to ensure the safety and security of our organization's information systems.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><b>Security Monitoring: </b>Monitor security alerts and incidents using security information and event management (SIEM) systems and other security tools.</li><li><b>Incident Response: </b>Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access, and data breaches.</li><li><b>Threat Analysis: </b>Analyse security threats and vulnerabilities to determine their impact on the organization and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.</li><li><b>Log Analysis: </b>Review and analyse system and network logs to identify suspicious activity and potential security breaches.</li><li><b>Vulnerability Management: </b>Support vulnerability scanning and assessment efforts and assist in coordinating remediation activities.</li><li><b>Documentation: </b>Maintain detailed and accurate records of security incidents, including analysis, actions taken, and recommendations for improvement.</li><li><b>Security Awareness: </b>Assist in promoting security awareness across the organization through training sessions and communication of security best practices.</li><li><b>Collaboration: </b>Work closely with IT, development, and other teams to ensure security controls are integrated into the organization&#39;s processes and systems.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><b>Experience:</b> 0-1 years of relevant experience in a security operations or IT role (internships and co-op experience considered).</li><li><b>Technical Skills:</b></li></ul><ul><li>Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, intrusion</li><li>detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and antivirus software.</li><li>Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).</li><li>Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools.</li><li>Knowledge of common security threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).</li></ul><ul><li><b>Soft Skills: </b></li></ul><ul><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.</li></ul><ul><li>High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.</li></ul><ul><li><b>Certifications (Preferred): </b>CompTIA Security&#43;, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar entry-level security certifications.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><span>Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, <span>candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes</span> as permitted or required by applicable law</span><span>.</span></p>
