General Accounting Manager - Global Life-science Leader - Temporary

Labcorp is seeking a General Accounting Manager – Temporary role to join our team in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Work Schedule

09:00- 18:00 - 40 hours based on a five-day working week, Monday to Friday.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and act upon the respective KPIs

• Prepare and review accounting entries in accordance with relevant accounting standards and policies

• Review month-end closing activities and monthly financial reports, investigating significant variances in financial statement analyses

• Review and prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations

• Assist with the completion of all external, internal and special audits

• Maintain strong internal relationships with Tax, Treasury, IAS and Payroll; as well as external relationships with local service providers, advisors and auditors

• Make recommendations for improvements in processes and/or quality of information reported and assists with implementation of action plans

• Complete ad hoc projects and tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance;

Preferred Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA/CPA, advanced accounting degree;

Additional Job Standards

• 5 or more years accounting experience in Shared Service Centers or multinational companies

• 2 or more years of supervisory experience

• Adhere to a pro-active approach, with the ability to problem solve, and interact professionally with internal and external clients in order to meet everyone’s needs in an effective and timely manner

• Demonstrate ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize

• Proficient in Excel and Word

• Previous experience with ERP system (PeopleSoft preferred)

• Problem solving skills

• Proven track for improvements in processes or control environment

• Strong stakeholder management skills

• Experience in an international, multicurrency environment, preferably US corporate

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of US GAAP principles and internal control environments

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Experience working with large amounts of data

Our Integrated Accounting Services (IAS) team in Sofia, Bulgaria is continually developing and we want to appoint a General Accounting Manager. This is a full-time, temporary role for 12 months, on hybrid mode (1-day per week at the office).
