Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Conducts more complex production tasks such as operating multiple machines. Performs minor machine maintenance. Assists in setting up machines. Works at different workstations as production needs require. May train less experienced coworkers. Typically has more than 5 years of experience and works under general direction. Typical job titles include: Senior operator.

• Perform tank car lining and coating work, including preparing, application and inspection.
• Execute railcar switching activities safely within the facility.
• Ensure lining work meets the required specification, safety standards and quality expectations.
• Identify defects or inconsistencies and perform touch-ups or rework as required.
• Support wash station operations and paint booth activities as needed.
