• Manage statutory reporting requirements across multiple insurance legal entities and jurisdictions, serving as a key internal resource on statutory accounting and reporting requirements and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely submission. Develop and maintain GAAP-to-statutory accounting conversions, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation to ensure well-supported financial reporting.
• Lead key aspects of the monthly and quarterly accounting close activities for insurance entities, including insurance-specific accounting and actuarially determined balances, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and variance explanations.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of insurance regulatory applications, amendments, licensing-related financial documentation, and other state insurance department filings.
• Partner with Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders on regulatory approvals, corporate transactions, new product or market filings, and other insurance-related applications.
• Monitor developments in NAIC guidance, statutory accounting principles, GAAP, and insurance regulatory requirements, and assess impacts on reporting and accounting processes.
• Research and document technical accounting and regulatory conclusions through clear, well-supported accounting memoranda and implementation guidance.
• Support preparation of management reporting, board materials, risk-based capital analyses, and other financial or regulatory reporting as needed.
• Design and implement scalable processes, systems, controls, and documentation that strengthen reporting accuracy, improve efficiency, and support the continued growth of the insurance business.
• Support statutory audits, regulatory examinations, and state insurance department inquiries, including preparation of supporting documentation and coordination of responses.
