Our IES Division focuses on providing exceptional service for Ion Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Trace Elemental, and Molecular Spectroscopy solutions, supporting groundbreaking research and applications across various industries.</p><p></p><p>As a <b>Field Service Engineer Expert (IC-LC-MS)</b> at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to delivering excellent service for sophisticated analytical and scientific instruments, specifically those belonging to the IC-LC-MS group. Working with customers across research, industrial, and healthcare settings, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment such as IC, HPLC, Integrion, Vanquish, Triple Quadrupole, IonTrap, and Orbitrap systems. This position offers opportunities to work with advanced technology while contributing to scientific advancement and innovation.</p><p></p><p><b>Location: </b>North West Italy (remote), with a preference for Lombardian region. Travel throughout Italy as required.</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and validation of IC-LC-MS instruments</li><li>Ensure delivery of all activities related to the specific instrumental branch with the highest possible efficiency</li><li>Assure customer satisfaction through excellence in repair and support</li><li>Work in conjunction with other ULS teams and Sales, maintaining a client-focused approach</li><li>Schedule repair, maintenance, and qualification jobs by priority</li><li>Maintain spare parts inventory, tools, manuals, and test equipment</li><li>Actively promote and sell installations, extended service contracts, preventative maintenances, and related services</li><li>Advise customers of new products and upgrades, reporting sales opportunities to account representatives</li><li>Perform all service activities in compliance with Company values and 4i principles (Integrity, Involvement, Innovation, Intensity)</li><li>Maintain a clear vision for cost savings</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Requirements:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree (advanced degree preferred) in Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering, or related field, with minimum 6-7 years of experience and a strong technical background in Electronics/Chemistry/Engineering or Equivalent Experience</li><li>Field Service experience or relevant Industry experience (background in Ion and Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Trace Elemental, or Molecular Spectroscopy is a plus)</li><li>Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose issues down to component level</li><li>Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment preferred</li><li>Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Strong organizational and time management capabilities</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, AI tools, and service management software</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics</li><li>Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 90% within the assigned area; travel throughout Italy may be required</li><li>Physical ability to lift up to 23 Kg and work in various laboratory environments</li><li>Native Italian speaker with<b> proficiency in English (CV in English)</b></li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently</li><li>Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards</li><li>Ability to respond to customer needs with short notice</li><li>Ability to effectively train and support customers on equipment operation</li><li>Experience documenting service activities and preparing detailed reports</li><li>Demonstrated success in meeting customer satisfaction goals</li><li>Willingness to travel to EMEA or US, mainly for training purposes</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p>This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge analytical technologies while contributing to the success of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Analytical Instruments Group.</p><p>Join us in our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
