Field Application Specialist, Advanced Therapy Solutions, India

We are seeking a Field Application Specialist – Advanced Therapy Solutions to act as a trusted technical partner to customers and internal stakeholders. This is a field-based, customer-facing, highly technical role responsible for driving adoption, performance, and commercial success of advanced therapy solutions across a Pan-India territory.<br><br>The role operates at the intersection of sales enablement, application expertise, and customer success, supporting advanced cell and gene therapy workflows through hands-on technical engagement.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h3><b>Main Responsibilities &amp; Tasks:</b></h3><ul><li><p>Provide expert application and technical support to the sales organization through product presentations, demonstrations, application studies, and customer consultations.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate closely with Product Management on new product introductions, including beta site testing, validation trials, and field demonstrations.</p></li><li><p>Take ownership of the assigned Advanced Therapy product portfolio to support sales target achievement across India.</p></li><li><p>Partner with customers to understand application requirements, perform <b>URS analysis</b>, and design optimized technical solutions aligned with customer workflows.</p></li><li><p>Plan, execute, and document <b>application trials and demonstrations</b>, ensuring defined objectives and measurable outcomes.</p></li><li><p>Deliver proactive on-site and remote technical support, addressing implementation challenges and ensuring successful product adoption.</p></li><li><p>Support the Quality function by troubleshooting customer processes and contributing to quality complaint investigations and resolution.</p></li><li><p>Collect, analyze, and report product performance data and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and product optimization.</p></li><li><p>Track competitor technologies and market trends; share structured insights with Application Specialist leadership and Product Management teams.</p></li><li><p>Deliver structured <b>product and application training</b> to internal sales teams and channel partners; lead external customer workshops, seminars, and technical forums.</p></li><li><p>Prepare high-quality trial reports, technical documentation, and post-engagement summaries for internal stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Travel <b>extensively</b> across customer sites to support field activities and build long-term technical partnerships.</p></li></ul><h3></h3><h3><b>Technical Focus Areas</b></h3><ul><li><p><b>CAR-T Cell Therapy</b></p></li><li><p>Stem Cell Technologies (<b>PSC, MSC</b>)</p></li><li><p>Immune Cell Technologies</p></li><li><p>DNA-based applications</p></li><li><p><b>Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV)</b> technologies</p></li><li><p>Antiviral and gene therapy platforms</p></li><li><p>Cell and gene therapy manufacturing workflows</p></li></ul><h3></h3><h3><b>Qualification &amp; Skills:</b></h3><ul><li><p><b>Master’s degree (mandatory)</b> in <b>Biological Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences</b>, or a related field.</p></li><li><p><b>4–12 years</b> of experience in a Field Application Specialist, Application Scientist, or similar technical role within life sciences, biopharma, or advanced therapy domains.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of laboratory processes, equipment, and application technologies relevant to cell and gene therapy.</p></li><li><p>Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical, customer-focused solutions.</p></li><li><p>Experience collaborating effectively with Sales, Product Management, Quality, and cross-functional teams.</p></li><li><p>Strong learning agility with sustained interest in emerging technologies and research trends.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.</p></li><li><p>Strong customer orientation and problem-solving mindset.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.</p></li><li><p>Fluency in English is mandatory; additional Indian languages are an advantage.</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>About Sartorius </b></p><p></p><p>Sartorius is part of the solution in the fight against cancer, dementia, and many other diseases.
