We are searching for the best talent for Facilities Management Intern to be in Shepherdsville, KY.

• The Intern term is from May to August, 2027.
• Full time requirement (40 hours per week).

At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) we take care of all J&J buildings around the world providing end-to-end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. We have a profound influence on the entire J&J Enterprise, providing innovative workplaces where our employees can collaborate and grow, and delivering flexible site solutions which enable our business to best serve our important customers and patients.

The Facilities Management Intern will support the Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) team at the Kentucky Distribution Center (KDC), a pharmaceutical distribution facility that supports the storage and distribution of ambient, cold chain, and controlled-substance products. The intern will gain hands-on experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, capital projects, workplace services, and compliance-driven operations within a GxP-regulated environment. The role offers exposure to critical infrastructure systems, facility improvement projects, and day-to-day site operations that directly support patient supply.

You will be responsible:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of site master plans and facility improvement initiatives.
• Update and maintain building drawings, utility maps, and facility documentation using AutoCAD.
• Support facilities and engineering teams with capital project planning, execution, and project tracking.
• Participate in infrastructure assessments involving HVAC, refrigeration, fire protection, electrical, and building systems.
• Attend project meetings, document meeting minutes, track action items, and support follow-up activities.
• Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and workplace improvement projects.
• Support GxP documentation activities including change controls, preventive maintenance records, qualification support, and facility documentation.
• Contribute to sustainability and decarbonization initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.
• Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project status, recommendations, and key findings.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Supply Chain Engineering, or related fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Knowledege of Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in engineering, facilities management, maintenance, or construction.
• Interest in facility systems, sustainability, energy management, or pharmaceutical operations.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data analytics solutions.
