Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Facilities Standardization Engineer located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Standardization Engineer is responsible for developing uniform standards, procedures & documentation to support facility projects that transform manufacturing operations and facility utilization at the Austin manufacturing campus, to enable adherence to best practices, support our diverse suite of customers, and ensure strategic goals are realized.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop, implement, & maintain standard drawings and procedures to be utilized in the facilities transformation workflow. Organize structure of project and CAD documentation and maintain the highest quality and accuracy for site manufacturing layouts.
- Create standard work instructions and processes, document workflows through creation of training documents, consult with engineering team on continuous improvement projects.
- Enforce standards in specific drawing elements that help engineering teams visualize the factory process and utility requirements, ensure consistency in elements displayed and presentation among engineering teams.
- Maintain site reference CAD materials that support operations, human resources, fire life & safety, etc. Update manufacturing as-built equipment layouts and become SME for utilization and capabilities across all areas.
- Assist in the design of process and equipment floor layouts per specific customer and site initiatives, using engineering principles to optimize product, information, and people flows. Coordinate with engineering teams and SMEs to assess current capacities and produce CAD documentation for required modifications.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as an engineer or project manager
- Demonstrated industry experience with CAD design software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A detailed-oriented candidate who prefers structure, is meticulous, focused on accuracy
- Solid potential in a candidate interested to develop, learn, and grow with the organization
Here are a few of our preferred experiences:
- Preferred direct experience in a manufacturing facility environment as an Industrial Engineer or project manager
- Proficiency in CAD design, specifically 2-D modeling of equipment and process floor layouts
- Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet
- Demonstrated technical and leadership experience
- Experience with prioritizing multiple simultaneous projects competing for shared resources
