You will play a crucial role in optimizing and continually enhancing process efficiencies, quality, safety, and automation within our manufacturing operations. By collaborating with multi-functional teams and analyzing production methods, you will successfully implement structured continuous improvement methodologies to enhance performance. Expect to lead and develop a high-performing team while technically supporting optimization opportunities and fostering a culture of detailed execution and innovation.</p><div></div><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><b>Team Leadership and Development:</b><ul><li>Lead, mentor, and coach a team of engineers.</li><li>Champion a collaborative and innovative team environment.</li><li>Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.</li><li>Develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the engineering team.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Process Improvement:</b><ul><li>Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety.</li><li>Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for process-related issues.</li><li>Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Support regulatory and compliance requirements to industry standards.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Automation and Technology:</b><ul><li>Drive initiatives to enhance day-to-day plant operations by automating manual processes such as packaging, filling, and labeling.</li><li>Evaluate and implement new automation technologies to enhance production capabilities.</li><li>Collaborate with maintenance, IT, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.</li><li>Leverage digital tools and data analytics to optimize workflows and equipment utilization.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Cross-Industry Best Practices:</b><ul><li>Bring proven experience from chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, or other regulated industries and translate best practices across industries to strengthen safety, quality, and reliability.</li><li>Experience with process verification and validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ).</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Statistical Process Control:</b><ul><li>Develop and maintain SPC systems to monitor and improve product quality.</li><li>Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.</li><li>Implement control charts and other SPC tools for consistent product quality.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Continuous Improvement:</b><ul><li>Champion continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.</li><li>Develop and implement projects to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost savings.</li></ul></li></ul><p></p><ul><li><b>Project Management:</b><ul><li>Plan, execute, and lead engineering projects from feasibility through completion.</li><li>Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.</li><li>Coordinate with other departments to align projects with plant goals.</li></ul></li></ul><div></div><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree (required) in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.</li><li>Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering within chemical, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.</li><li>Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation systems, and packaging/filling operations.</li><li>Understanding of process automation and control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA, robotics, vision inspection).</li><li>Proficiency in SPC and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment.</li></ul><div></div><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field.</li><li>Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt).</li><li>Demonstrated success leading automation implementation projects in filling, labeling, or packaging operations.</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left"><u><b>Compensation and Benefits</b></u></p>The salary range estimated for this position based in New Jersey is $123,800.00–$185,675.00.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
